The 3 audiences you must consider while searching for a job (and the key to winning each of them over): 1. The Hiring Facilitators, the recruiters and HR professionals, are assessing: • Will the hiring manager see you as a qualified candidate? • Do you meet the core requirements? • Can we afford you? 2. The Machines, the ATS and LinkedIn, are scanning for: • Your title, company, industry, and years of experience • The keywords that might indicate your qualifications 3. Your Potential Future Teammates, the people you'll work with directly, want to know: • Will you be able to help us solve the challenges we face? • Are your skills and experiences relevant to our work? • Can you fit in gracefully with the team? All three of those audiences have one common thread: They love clear, well-presented evidence: • Quantified achievements • Measurable impact on critical metrics • Specific examples to demonstrate skills in action Those details not only create a clearer picture of your capabilities (for the human audience) but also boost your search relevance and credibility (for the machines). So, the next time you update your resume or LinkedIn profile, keep your three key audiences in mind and bolster every claim with solid proof points. Your career story will be more compelling and convincing as a result.

What should you do if you haven’t had any bites in your job search in a long time? I know that applying so much effort without anything to show for it is discouraging. But, the key to success lies in embracing discipline and structure. Here are three strategies to help you stay focused and resilient: 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐉𝐨𝐛 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐋𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐉𝐨𝐛: Good news, you do have a job. That job is finding a job. Wake up at a reasonable time, get dressed, and dedicate time each day to your job search activities. 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧: Avoid randomly doing things in bursts. Break down your job search into manageable tasks. From updating your resume and LinkedIn profile to networking and applying for positions, having a structured plan ensures you stay organized and make steady progress. 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐈𝐭 𝐔𝐩: If what you’re doing isn’t working try something different. Expand the sectors that you apply to. If you’ve only been applying to big companies look at medium and small companies, and vice versa. Look for adjacent roles. --- If you found this helpful, check out this video: https://lnkd.in/gVm9cNmD

It's not unusual to look at a job ad and feel like you only have 60% of the skills. Then you have 2 choices: Apply and cross your fingers, not feeling confident, or Skip over the job because you think you aren't good enough for the role. We want you to know that even if you only have 50% of the required skills you should absolutely be applying anyway! The reason? Most job ads are actually a wish list for the ideal candidate. We have literally seen up to 50 skills on these lists and can tell you the perfect candidate does not exist! Sharing an industry secret: People are hired not for their current skills - people are hired for who they are! Anyone can learn the skills they don't have. When applying for jobs that don't feel like you are quite the right fit, focus on the soft skills you would bring to the company - as former hiring manages we can tell you that is a successful strategy.
