🔊Tamworth Borough Council’s ambitious regeneration project continues with planning permission granted for work to improve the walkway between the castle grounds and town centre. ➡️Approval has been granted to demolish the former Nationwide Building Society building, built in the 1970s, and create a wider bridge to the castle grounds with public realm improvements to create a wider more welcoming space. ➡️Removing the old building society will allow for better appreciation of the grade I listed Tamworth Castle and its grounds, the Town Hall and St Editha’s Church. ➡️Throughout all the work, though there will be disruption, Tamworth town centre and market remain ready to welcome visitors for shopping, socialising and leisure. 🚧 Transforming Paris Park: A Community Revitalized 🚧 Paris Park (formerly Park West) is a 360-unit complex that we’ve had the privilege to transform through strategic investments and impactful community-focused initiatives. Here’s what we’ve accomplished so far: + $6 million+ in improvements, including interior upgrades, exterior façade enhancements, and extensive roof repairs. + Improved tenant credit scores by an average of 20 points by reporting positive rent payments to credit bureaus. + Established an on-site food pantry, stocked and ready to support residents during challenging times. + Connected residents to resources, including SNAP benefits, rental assistance, job opportunities, and legal aid, through individualized consultations. Paris Park is more than just a housing complex—it’s a community where families can thrive. Without these efforts, properties like this often face inevitable decline, making way for demolition and replacement by Class A developments that displace affordable housing. Instead, we’ve stabilized Paris Park as a model of naturally occurring affordable housing (NOAH) at the base of beautiful Paris Mountain, preserving its accessibility for the workforce and strengthening the community’s foundation. Check out the video (https://lnkd.in/ebkbDAKM ) Stay tuned for our full report, highlighting the measurable impact of these initiatives. #AffordableHousing #CommunityTransformation #ResidentFocused #Preservation #WorkforceHousing

Co-living developments are transforming London’s housing landscape, providing innovative and community-focused solutions to address the ongoing housing crisis. New research by Lichfields UK, featured in A New Way to Live: Co-living in London, reveals the rapid growth of the co-living sector and its potential to reshape urban living. Despite being in its early stages, the sector is already thriving, with nearly 70% of large-scale co-living planning applications in London gaining approval. These thoughtfully designed spaces prioritize affordability, flexibility, and a sense of community, catering to young professionals and others seeking modern, high-quality living environments. However, misconceptions persist, and collaborative efforts between developers, policymakers, and communities are essential to ensure co-living is fully integrated into housing strategies. Adam Donovan, Planning Director at Lichfields, emphasizes that co-living is not a temporary fix but a forward-thinking lifestyle that addresses London’s housing challenges while fostering community living. Britain Remade + CREATE STREETS | For the first time in 50 years, there is a national commitment in the UK to building a new generation of new towns. https://lnkd.in/gfzjmnWp With the severity of Britain’s housing crisis…the location and design of new towns is critical to them growing into prosperous and liveable communities. They can fail. The UK's new towns should focus on an oft-forgotten form of transport: walking…describing ways to create walkable neighbourhoods by building towns of ‘gentle density’.... The report proposes a dozen new towns linked to existing urban centres, such as Cambridge and Bristol. Forbes features the study with a discussion on how to measure walkability… New towns should be located in: •Places that are in an area with acute housing need •Places with strong links to existing cities or towns, especially those which have a large housing shortage •Places with room for at least 10,000 homes today and future expansion opportunities •Places where new homes can be popular and successful by using existing or planned infrastructure rather than spending extra money and time developing major new projects •Places that make use of existing plans or proposals that can be developed at pace, rather than creating completely new plans; •Places that do not need to expand into National Landscapes, flood plains or Sites of Special Scientific Interest in order to grow (though these places can be ones that need to use green belt land to grow); and •Places with good public transport links to encourage sustainable lifestyles, not just collections of poorly-connected sustainable buildings. #SDGs #WalkableUrbanism #20MinuteNeighbourhoods #TimelessUrbanism #HybridWorkplace #WFH #WFA #IMBY #ADU #EBikes
