60 years of electronica — Congratulations to the world's leading trade fair for the electronics industry!   electronicaFair is regarded as an international industry meeting place and reliably represents the entire world of electronics. As electronics play an integral role in almost every area of life today, there are hardly any more exciting trade fairs than electronica! Every two years, it is a key driver for the rapidly growing interconnectedness of communication, knowledge, machines, and infrastructure. 📈   It fills me with pride to be Chairman of the electronica Advisory Board and to help shape the innovative and cross-sector solutions of tomorrow in this way. I am all the more pleased that all 18 exhibition halls will be filled with over 3,000 exhibitors from all over the world for the first time at this year's fair from November 12 to 15 in Munich. 🤯   In terms of content, the focus will be on the future vision of the #AllElectricSociety. In general, the topic of #sustainability will run like a red thread through the entire exhibition area and the supporting program. The Festival of Future is (almost) here! 🔮🌘 I’m excited to meet our members, partners, and friends at this incredible event which will start next week on Tuesday, September 10. There are many interesting topics and discussions within the program, but my favorite is AI. It is clear that technology will play a pivotal role in shaping our society. AI is at the forefront of this transformation, offering immense potential to revolutionize industries and improve our quality of life. However, with this potential comes the responsibility to ensure that AI is used ethically and for the benefit of all.   Slovakia has long been known for its strong automotive industry, but we believe that the future lies in diversifying our economy and building a skilled workforce that can drive innovation and add value. By embracing technology and investing in research and development, we can transition from an assembly-based economy to one that is driven by knowledge and expertise. AI can help Slovakia rise to these challenges not only in the automotive sector, but also help its entry among the elite group of countries that bring innovations.   A crucial part of this vision is nurturing and retaining our talented individuals. It is imperative that we create an environment where students and skilled professionals see their future in Slovakia as they will be vital in driving our country forward. We must invest in education, provide opportunities for growth, and ensure that our brightest minds have reasons to stay and thrive here.   The Festival of Future is a celebration of this vision. On the first day of the festival, which I am most looking forward to, we will focus on the digital agenda, exploring how information and technology can shape our future. A little over a week ago, the MWC Technology Fair focusing on connectivity took place in Barcelona. Here are a few highlights from the perspective of the Oulu Automotive Cluster: ◾ There was a clear emphasis on software, with fewer visible physical components than before. Connected vehicles and tailored individual driving experiences supported by high level system integrations are in focus now. ◾ Future telecommunications networks are increasingly built with software, and it is now intriguing to witness advanced applications emerging from various industries. ◾ 5G private networks have gained traction, and new protocols such as RedCap enable cost-effective and dedicated solutions, especially for industrial environments. ◾ There were relatively few automotive manufacturers present, but entities like RadioPark and OuluZone, presented by RadioPark, garnered significant interest from the audience! ◾ Advanced testing environments, featuring high-quality network infrastructure and ready-made service models, are of great interest to stakeholders.
