Transitioning from military to civilian life is a monumental shift, filled with both challenges and opportunities. From our pre-recruiting phase through our military career and even the transition readiness phase, we often hear about the wonderful value our military experience brings to the table. However, there is a caveat that is overlooked. Our military experience works beautifully in the civilian space ONLY if we adopt the appropriate mindset for our civilian careers. One key aspect often overlooked is the mindset adjustment and time requirement necessary for this transition. As a non-commissioned officer in the US Marine Corps, resilience was everything. But frankly, it is relevant in every facet of business life as well. Everyone wants resilient teams, processes, and businesses. But the road to getting there is hard. Building a culture of reliability and resilience doesn't happen overnight - it requires deliberate actions, ongoing commitment, and courage to face and learn from failures. Here's how you can start building resilience into every level of your organization: 1 - Clarity Just as in the military, clarity in mission and role expectations is crucial. You must clearly define goals and responsibilities so everyone knows what's expected and how to contribute to the larger objective. 2 - Training Robust training doesn't just apply to recruits in the Marines; it's essential in business. Invest in continuous learning and development to equip your team. 3 - Empathy + Authority Apply these principles to your business leadership: lead by example, show genuine concern for your team's well-being, make informed decisions, and act in a manner that is worthy of respect. Building resilient teams and processes requires patience, perseverance, and leadership. What will you do today to build personal and professional resilience? #DFW #sales #growth #change #selfimprovement #selling #success #resilience

I shared this video last week, but I feel it's worth revisiting because it highlights a crucial lesson: 100 untrained people are no match for 3 trained operators, even in something as seemingly simple as paintball. This isn't just about tactics or skill—it's about the discipline, strategy, and teamwork that come from military training. Veterans bring these invaluable qualities to the private sector, where the ability to assess, adapt, and execute under pressure can make all the difference. It's a reminder that with the right training and mindset, veterans can excel in any field. Let's not underestimate the value they bring to the table. What do you think? #Leadership #Veterans #Teamwork #MilitarySkills
