The working principle of wire cutting is as follows: ◾ Connection of electrode wire and workpiece: Connect the electrode wire (negative electrode) and the workpiece (positive electrode) through a pulse power supply to form an electric field. ◾ Spark discharge: When the distance between the electrode wire and the workpiece is small enough, the pulse voltage can break through the medium between the two to form a spark discharge. ◾ High-temperature melting: The high temperature generated by the spark discharge causes the metal to melt or vaporize locally, thereby removing the material on the workpiece. ◾ Material removal: The melted or vaporized metal is carried away by the working fluid to form a slit, completing the material removal. ◾ CNC control: The movement trajectory of the electrode wire is controlled by a CNC device to achieve cutting of complex shapes.
