It's Sunday, and you know what that means... ☕ and #MedTech news! Cleerly, #cardiovascular non-invasive imaging tech company announced a $106 Mil series C raise, tremendous progress in better diagnostic tools for #stenosis James Min, MD Insight Partners Profound Medical Inc. announced a public offering raising $35 Mil towards their transurethral ultrasound ablation technology for #prostate Arun Menawat Active week in #Wearables, as Withings, a French consumer electronics company known for #smartdevices, announced a $22 Mil partnership with French government to support "Project Deep". This project will help to develop smart medical grade wearables capable of detecting cardiometabolic pathologies with aim towards better health outcomes and lower healthcare costs. Eric CARREEL Movano Health received #FDA clearance towards their smart ring pulse oximetry feature, and Nonin Medical, Inc. received clearance for the first #OTC fingertip pulse oximeter. John Mastrototaro John Hastings Good to see more progress for NovaCure with positive results from phase 3 trials for #pancreatic cancer. This company is tackling some of the deadliest cancers out there with low-intensity, alternating electric fields designed to disrupt cell division and tumor growth. Ashley Cordova Asaf Danziger Zimmer Biomet has more good progress as they received #FDA nod for their total knee tech. Joe Urban Ivan Tornos Distalmotion announced first US outpatient procedure with #Dexter #surgicalrobot for #herniarepair, great for physicians and patients. Greg Roche ShiraTronics, Inc. announced they will begin their #IDE study for a minimally invasive implantable #neuromodulation technology for #migraine sufferers. Rob Binney Nervonik, Inc. announced a first in human study of their active device which applies highly controlled electrical currents to peripheral nerves for pain relief. Aydin Babakhani Tough week to choose, but my favorite story goes to Lungpacer Medical. Their neurostimulation technology received #PMA from #FDA for their AeroPace System, a device designed to help patients wean off a ventilator and breathe on their own. It is a fascinating platform; it strengthens diaphragm muscles by using the body's nervous system to send signals and activate "exercises". I love health options that initiate recovery from the inside out. Congratulations on the progress to Doug Evans and team. THANK YOU to my phenomenal partner Wesley Kennedy-Sita, as well as many industry friends who keep us informed. Tom Salemi, Sean Whooley, Chris Newmarker, Danielle Kirsh, Jim Hammerand, LSI, MedTech Dive, Elise Reuter, and teams. Have a fantastic week! https://lnkd.in/e_mg_Sn5
Holly Scott really appreciate the time you put into these, always interesting AND helpful. Withings was at a recent limb salvage conference exploring further ways to push into the consumer/health mix in that area as well.
Thanks for the summary, Holly Scott.
Another amazing week for this great industry! And yet we need to move faster and think bolder. Patients are waiting!
It’s Sunday morning. There’s coffee. And this was top of my feed. And I learned about 9 new things today. 🤔 The Lungpacer Medical story is amazing. I love the industry. What amazing problem solving, engineering skill and innovation. Thank you, Holly!

1wAnother great rundown of #medtech this week Holly Scott! It was also tough for me to choose my favorite story of the week- I've been following RPM and Withings fir a while, and the story on NovaCure and pancreatic cancer (I lost a good friend to it). But I too enjoyed the story on Lungpacer Medical as I've been in that space for many years and it's great to see the movement forward. Have a great week!
