On this National Caregivers Day, let's take a moment to acknowledge the invaluable care and support that family caregivers provide to their loved ones living with dementia. Unfortunately, misconceptions and stigma surrounding Alzheimer's disease remain prevalent, even among highly educated healthcare professionals. By improving our understanding of AD, we can reduce stigma and improve outcomes for both people living with AD and their caregivers. Let's work together to break down these barriers and provide better care for those in need. #NationalCaregiversDay #AlzheimersKnowledge #AlzheimersAwareness # Stigma

On #WorldAlzheimersDay, let's take a moment to reflect and raise awareness for those whose memories may be fading. Alzheimer’s can affect anyone, and early support makes all the difference. Here’s how we can come together to make an impact: 1️⃣ Raise Awareness – Knowledge is the first step. The more we talk about Alzheimer’s, the better equipped we are to support those affected. 2️⃣ Support Loved Ones – If you notice a family member or friend showing signs of memory loss or confusion, offer them compassion and encourage early diagnosis. 3️⃣ Promote Early Detection – Identifying Alzheimer’s early can lead to more effective care and planning for the future. Encourage regular check-ups and discussions with healthcare professionals. 4️⃣ Foster Communities of Care – Alzheimer’s impacts not only the individual but also their families and caregivers. Let’s create a network of support where no one feels alone. 5️⃣ Advocate for Better Care – Whether through healthcare policies, local programs, or personal involvement, we can all play a role in ensuring those living with Alzheimer’s receive the best care possible. Together, we can work towards a future where every memory is cherished and no one faces Alzheimer’s alone. 💜🌿 #KalazaCare #AlzheimersSupport #HealthAndCare #MemoriesMatter #SupportAndAwareness #WorldAlzheimersDay

Traveling with a person living with dementia during the holiday season can be a taxing and stressful task. Caregivers often feel extremely overwhelmed by this, so I put together some tips in this video to help alleviate some of that stress. I encourage caregivers to pack the documents that might come in handy, a full medication list, and extra medication just in case. The holiday season can be very hard on caregivers, and if you have any clients who are dealing with navigating decision making for a person living with dementia and feeling the pressure of this season, I’m happy to help! Please feel free to share this video :)

💜 September is World Alzheimer’s Month 💜 This international campaign is not just about awareness—it's about breaking the stigma that often surrounds these conditions and recognising the incredible caregivers who make a difference every day. Caring for residents with Alzheimer's or dementia can be very stressful and brings unique challenges for healthcare professionals who often experience high levels of stress and emotional strain, and yet continue to give compassionate care on a daily basis. As we observe this month, let’s come together to: 1️⃣ Acknowledge the hard work and dedication of caregivers. 2️⃣ Share resources and support networks that can help alleviate their burdens. 3️⃣ Foster conversations that challenge misconceptions and promote understanding of Alzheimer’s and dementia. Together, lets raise awareness and try to create a supportive environment for both caregivers and those they care for. #WorldAlzheimersMonth #DementiaAwareness #CaregiversMatter #BreakTheStigma #UKCareHomes
