2015 vw Jetta 1.8t with 90k miles: P15D “chain lengthening” I found amoug many other faults in this customers jetta. Fault P15D - chain lengthening, this fault though straight forward in its description - is a huge red flag for me. On the vw/audi 2.0t/1.8t there is a little service cover, if removed and inspected you can see how far out these tensioners are and a teeth count specification is given in service info. Specs vary based on design but the idea is the same. This one is maxed thus the fault set in the ecm, while I could have placed spark plugs at this 2.0t (30k overdue) Seeing this fault and showing the customer there was a bigger issue at hand is powerful. You can see in this photo the tensioner is fully extended to its maximum position. It’s days are numbered! Judging by limited information, but vehicle condition considered - this vehicle has had little maintenance causing timing chain stretch this early.

VW SPEAKER PLUGS The pair shown on the top left is probably the fastest selling speaker plug in the U.K. The example shown is widely available online from many resellers, sadly they are near to useless because for almost all modern VW cars and vans the polarity is backwards and they aren't long enough to work with waterguards correctly. Our Presto Connect version solves both problems by being wired correctly and being longer, ofc wire so you know the quality is high and reliably won't be a problem. https://lnkd.in/eudVjmpK Even the most basic parts can always be better.

LINK is happy to share that our presentation, “Model-in-the-Loop (MiL) for the Development of Euro 7 Circuits for C1 Tyre Abrasion," was honored with the SAE Excellence in Oral Presentation Award during the 2024 SAE Brake Colloquium. Our highly-talented team collaborated across several business units as well as leaned on expertise from Audi AG and IPG to form this thought-provoking piece, which was presented during the Colloquium by Carlos Agudelo, Director of Applications Engineering. We are proud to be positioned as industry thought leaders and to be deeply engaged in the latest discussions on emissions across several applications. We're excited to present once again, focusing on brake emissions, at the ATC China Brake Annual Conference 2024 in Shanghai on October 23-24. Our session, delivered by Agudelo, "Sensitivity of Emissions Factors to Climatic Conditions, Some Aspects of Euro 7 Type Approval, and Use of a Reference Brake During Dyno Validation," is scheduled for October 23. I'm afraid I have to disagree. It's a very symptomatic phenomenon for the German IT industry. UX is not even a second-class citizen here. It costs nothing to employ a proper element for the job. It's even easier to do. It's just that German IT generally doesn't care about user experience. It is an example of a job needing to be better made.
The internet is going CRAZY because Volkswagen used a slider and not a progress bar to visualize update status. Let's bash VW! 🚗 You know what? I'd do it the same way as VW. 😱 Done is better than perfect after all! If my choice is: 1️⃣ Go live today with a slider that might be touchable, but gets the job done. OR 2️⃣ Design and implement a new fool-proof progress-bar and go live some days later THEN I'd always prioritize go to market. Always. Nicely done CARIAD!
