Tourism is of huge importance to Portsmouth, supporting over 12,000 jobs and bringing in more than £600m per year in income for local businesses. We are super proud of Portsmouth Historic Dockyard for being named in the top forty UK visitor attractions according to The Association of Leading Visitor Attractions (ALVA) figures for the third year in a row. The #visitorattraction also features in the top three visited paid attractions outside of London, behind Stonehenge and the Roman Baths. The total number of visits in 2023 to the attractions at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, operated jointly by the The National Museum of the Royal Navy and The Mary Rose was over 870,000. This was a 21% increase on the previous year – beating the national increase of 19% across other attractions. #visitoreconomy #investportsmouth Read more https://lnkd.in/ewvivQnJ

As we conclude an incredible week (and finally make it home), I look forward to opening a new one filled with bold possibilities fueled by an industry committed to advancing the transformative power of travel. The creative collisions, partnerships, and invaluable learnings gained on the Madden team and across the industry this week are just the beginning. We cannot wait to turn this inspiration into action in the coming weeks and months, implementing new ideas and strategies that drive progress and inspire change. A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated team (Madden Media), industry partners, and everyone who contributed to this experience. Your passion and commitment fuel our collective success and strengthen our resolve to make a positive impact. Here's to a future filled with creativity, inspiration, and endless possibilities. The best is yet to come! Also, a huge shout out to some special people who made this event even better: Destinations International (their entire team, especially Kim Bach), Visit Tampa Bay (Santiago Corrada, Patrick Harrison, Janette Carter), our partners at Carvertise, Epsilon, and the Florida Aquarium, and so many others who shared not just what is working but new offerings being developed and in beta testing that we are excited to test out. Lastly, it was a challenging day for many of us traveling with the Microsoft/Crowdstrike issue that caused some disruptions. We saw our industry step up with agents, baggage handlers, pilots, and crews, so many had their entire days upended. Their day started full force, knowing that about 3 million people and 45,000 flights would need to be adjusted - a great testament to the service mentality of those great individuals and organizations and a reminder that we need facilities and infrastructure investments to help build greater resilience and capacity for travel. #teammadden #CreativeCollisions #diac24 #BoldFuture
🌟 That’s a wrap on this year’s Destinations International Annual Convention! 🌟 As always, it was amazing to connect in-person with so many clients and industry peers. 🌐 Thank you to Visit Tampa Bay for hosting, and looking forward to next year in Choose Chicago!
