Closing a chapter on a leadership journey is never easy. It’s tough to step back after pouring so much passion, energy, and heart into something and to let others take the baton. Leadership isn’t just about the time spent or the goals achieved; it’s about the relationships built, the challenges faced, and the growth experienced along the way. While it’s hard to say goodbye to Engage Dallas, I’m grateful for every lesson learned and every person who has been part of this journey. Though this chapter is ending, the impact will continue to shape my path forward. Here’s to new beginnings and carrying the experiences with me into the next adventure. #Leadership #Community #EngageDallas #DallasTx #Leadership #Growth #NewBeginnings

"Leadership is not about the next election; it’s about the next generation." Howard Schultz (Former CEO Starbuck) True leadership involves thinking long-term and leaving a lasting impact. Leadership level 5 (Good to Great - Jim Collins) also mentioned: Their ambition is first and foremost for the organization and concern for its success, rather than their own personal riches and renown. The Office for Fair Trading, First Nations Advisory Unit (FNAU) and Blue Card Services recently attended the Queensland Indigenous Leadership Youth Program Pathways Showcase. This program supports young First Nations people in Queensland, aged 18 to 25, in developing and enhancing their leadership skills. On the final day of the event, our team engaged with participants to provide information about training, education and career pathways available within the department. The FNAU team greatly valued the opportunity to discuss how these young leaders can pursue careers within our department. “It is inspiring to see the enthusiasm and potential of this year’s participants as they take steps towards achieving their goals," said Jennie Toonen, Director, FNAU. Since its inception in 2004, this program has supported over 720 young First Nations leaders. We are proud to be involved in this initiative and look forward to the meaningful change these future leaders will bring to their communities.
