Did you know that we have pilots on the water? Well, I'm here with Captain Clint Weniger of the Houston Pilots, the Persian officer. Clint, will you tell us what is a Houston pilots? Houston Pilots are the local experts on the waterway. We move some of the largest machines in the world. We move them on one of the most narrow, busiest waterways in the country. So tell us, why did you become a Houston pilot and what advice would you give to someone that wants to become one? Right before we we leave the house, my granddad gets a phone call and says you gotta go to you gotta go to the job. He couldn't leave me at the house. Himself. So he said ohh heck would it come on with me? So at 10 years old, I climb up the side of this ship with him and just to watch what he did driving this big ship up this narrow waterway, I was sold. I said granddad tell me what I need to do. He said stay out of trouble. Work hard, show up to everything on time for which for him meant early. So why is it important to give back and what are you guys doing to increase awareness of the maritime industry? I knew what I wanted to do because my grandfather and when I talked to my friends, talked to my teachers, counselors, no one knew what the heck I was talking about. What are you talking about working on a ship When at LaPorte, you can see the ship channel right from the high school itself and no one knew about it for the last 20 years. We started a 501C3 it's called ankle watch. We started giving away scholarships to get. That next generation excited about maritime? Check out the tab on Anchor Watch and find out how you can apply for a scholarship and get into this amazing industry.
This is a Classic photo. However, much of their wealth was siphoned away due to SEEFIRS. Despite institutionally racist systems, they each tried to uplift and inspire our communities against all odds.
Our wealthy businesspersons, athletes, and entertainers must prepare for a brewing financial and economic storm. Now is the time to prepare by putting in place a facility that will allow the recapture of the tremendous wealth we still have and may lose if we fail to act now. Our leaders, I'm sure, don't plan for us to fail but are failing to plan. I have been advocating solutions, and we don't need the white man's permission to implement them.
I hate to be blunt, but time is short, and our problems keep increasing. Our wealth must be recaptured and recycled. It has to be used over and over again to build upon reestablishing our Black Banks, Insurance companies, and a viable secondary mortgage market. We no longer have or control any of these institutions of any stature, facilitating a critical foundation that is the basis for our economic recovery and survival.
In 2023, idgroup began using Heroic Public Benefit Corporation's training platform as a tool to reinforce our values of reciprocal responsibility, solutions-focused, appreciative worldview, continuous learning and curiosity, excellence and collaboration. Each month, a Heroic philosopher note/lesson is selected that ties back to one of our values.
Throughout August, we are elevating our value of reciprocal responsibility. The philosopher's note that was selected dives deep into the book Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin. The biggest takeaway from Extreme Ownership is absolutely owning everything in your world. Take 100% responsibility for the success (and failure) of your missions—blame no one and constantly seek ways to improve.
So what does reciprocal responsibility look like for idgroup? It means doing what you say you are going to do. Our team members act as interdependent partners where the success of each individual is tied to personal responsibility for our attitudes and actions as well as the support, respect and love we give to each other. This attitude extends to our interactions beyond the walls of this organization–to all living things.
How are you taking extreme ownership? Are you helping find solutions, making things better, leading and winning each and every day?

The story of the "Miracle on the Hudson" is not just a tale of survival; it’s a lesson in leadership and professionalism under extreme pressure.
✅️ Critical decisions in seconds: After a bird strike disabled both engines, Captain Sullenberger made the crucial decision not to return to LaGuardia, saving countless lives.
✅️ Mastery in execution: With over 30 years of experience, Sully exhibited remarkable calm and precision, executing a water landing on the Hudson, a maneuver few could accomplish.
✅️ Teamwork at its finest: The crew's professionalism was vital in the successful evacuation of all passengers in freezing conditions. Every crew member played their role flawlessly.
✅️ Responsibility to the end: Sullenberger was the last to leave the plane, ensuring no passengers were left behind, demonstrating unmatched commitment and leadership.
In times of crisis, leaders like Sully show us what it means to act with professional excellence and an unwavering sense of responsibility.
🌊✨ Navigating the Storm: A Lesson in Accountability and Privilege ✨🌊
In the world of luxury and leadership, we often forget that beneath the serene surface lies the weight of responsibility. 🛥️ The recent developments involving real estate mogul George Pino and the tragic 2022 boat crash serve as a stark reminder of this truth.
As the legal battle unfolds, we find ourselves reflecting on the intersection of wealth and accountability, and the profound impact our actions—or inactions—can have on the lives of others. ⚖️
This case is more than a headline. It’s a call to action for maritime safety improvements, a challenge to our legal and societal systems, and a poignant reminder of the human cost that underpins the pursuit of justice.
Remember, true leadership isn’t measured by success alone, but by the care and responsibility we extend to those around us. Let's strive to learn and grow from these events.
With the eyes of the nation watching, may justice be served, lessons be learned, and lives honored. 🌅

In his Hall of Fame speech, Tom Brady reminded us that “a team accomplishment far exceeds anyone’s individual goals.” That sentiment resonates deeply, not just in sports but in supply chain and logistics as well.
In supply chain, individual excellence—whether it’s negotiating the best supplier contract, optimizing warehouse efficiency, or expediting a critical shipment—is important. But the real victories come when the entire team operates as one cohesive unit:
🔹 Procurement, Logistics, and Operations working together to ensure the right materials arrive at the right time.
🔹 Warehouse teams and carriers aligning to reduce bottlenecks and improve fulfillment.
🔹 Suppliers, manufacturers, and customers communicating transparently to drive resilience and efficiency.
Just like in football, success in supply chain isn’t about one person making the perfect play—it’s about alignment, trust, and execution across the entire team. When we prioritize collaboration over personal achievement, we create lasting impact for our organizations, partners, and customers.
Brady’s career wasn’t built on talent alone—it was built on leadership, discipline, and an unwavering belief in the power of the team. Those same principles drive supply chain excellence every day.

Day 2: Holiday Leadership Lessons - Is your team as ecstatic to see you as Buddy the Elf was to see Santa?
Okay.......maybe we can't expect them to jump up and down and scream your name, but we can be a leader that people are excited to be around!
What leadership traits can we learn from Santa:
🎅 Santa had a CLEAR MISSION and VISION of spreading joy and he INSPIRED others to do the same.
🎅 Santa's success depended on his elves and his reindeer. He DELEGATED important tasks, EMPOWERED his team, and TRUSTED it would be done.
🎅 Santa shows up every year without fail! He is CONSISTENT in his actions.
🎅 Santa tailors each gift and personalizes each interaction. He UNDERSTANDS the STRENGTHS of his team and places them in the right spot, just like putting Rudolph right up front with his shiny nose.
🎅 Santa is delivering millions of gifts each year, which takes a lot of PLANNING, and ADAPTABILITY so he can handle unforeseen challenges.
🎅 Santa exudes WARMTH, KINDNESS and POSITIVITY, and the elves felt valued and appreciated.
Be a leader that fosters a spirit of collaboration, trust, and joy, and maybe someone will be as excited to see you as Buddy the Elf was to see Santa.

In James Kerr's book Legacy, which explores the lessons of leadership from the New Zealand All Blacks, former fly-half Andrew Mehrtens talks about the ritual of 'sweeping the sheds' after a game.
"It's an example of personal discipline, it's not expecting somebody else to do your job for you," he says.
"It teaches you not to expect things to be handed to you. If you have personal discipline in your life, then you are going to be more disciplined on the field."
#FEW GOOD MEN, below is the clip of Col Jessup just short of revealing that he ordered the Code Red.
💥 “You can’t handle the truth!” 💥
Col. Nathan Jessup’s fiery words from A Few Good Men still echo in boardrooms, leadership seminars, and moral debates. But let’s unpack the man behind the infamous line:
Col Jessup was abrasive, authoritarian, and unapologetically blunt. Yet, he claimed his actions, however controversial, were in service of the greater good.
👉 This sparks some BIG questions:
• Is it strength or arrogance to believe you alone know what’s best for others?
• Does a leader like Jessup, who thrives on control, uphold security—or undermine it?
• And perhaps the hardest question: Do we sometimes need leaders who prioritize results over values, or is that a slippery slope to corruption?
Villain or visionary? Jessup is a character you can’t pin down so easily. He wasn’t evil in the traditional sense. He was a soldier’s soldier—focused, unyielding, and convinced he was the answer to chaos. He was so driven by the cause (probably a just cause) that he may ,have crossed lines of regular social norms.
But here’s the rub: Leadership isn’t just about protecting the wall; it’s about protecting what the wall stands for. Did Jessup forget that? or Did he do it for the country which often overlooks the difficulty of being on the wall. Like in army its often said, there is no Second position. if a country's army loses .. the country loses. How to achieve that position, no one talks about.
🔥 What do YOU think? 🔥
• Does grit outweigh grace in leadership? Or the Grace includes winning, no matter how?
• Can integrity survive under fire? Or winning is the only aspect a country should look at?
• And most of all—would you want someone like Jessup leading your team, your nation, or your future?
Personally, I would like to be lead by someone who is predictable, ready to accept mistakes and ready to train his men to deliver what remains the soul purpose of a soldier of a country. to win.
Let’s dive into this. Share your thoughts below! 👇
