When is the right time to get 'serious' about HR or people structures in your newly-launched business? We work a lot with smaller and mid-sized businesses (not surprising - that's the bulk of the Kiwi market!) and we often get asked variations on this question. The reality is that as soon as you've got people in your business, you've got people-responsibilities. Your 'HR' might be non-existent... but the requirements are still there. You've got a chance to get things running smoothly, and if you didn't do it at the very start of your business, then make it a priority for the infancy of your organisation.
