Onboarding Matters More Than Ever! 🚀 The first few days for new hires are crucial. Getting it right sets the stage for success and retention. But how can we ensure a seamless transition? ✅ Personalise the Experience: Tailor the onboarding journey to each new hire. Understand their needs and align training accordingly. ✅ Clear Communication: From day one, maintaining transparency about what's expected fosters trust and clarity. ✅ Buddy System: Pairing new recruits with seasoned employees can make all the difference, providing guidance and a friendly face. ✅ Continuous Support: Don't let onboarding be a one-off event. Regular check-ins help identify and solve any issues early. I was co-facilitating a two day onboarding session last week. It had been designed in part for people to learn more about their department but a large element of it was to provide in-person opportunities to build new relationships and space to connect across a geographically dispersed, multi-lingual group of people. It was great to see connections being made over the two days and everyone I spoke with told me that this experience helped them feel cared about by the organisation in a way they hadn't in previous companies. How we onboard new hires says such a lot about how we treat our employees generally and can make a huge difference to engagement, productivity and attrition. Bringing a strength lens to onboarding is really helpful because when people are recognised for their strengths, it means they are accepted and valued for their authentic selves and what they bring to an organisation and it helps with that all-important engagement metric of getting to use our strengths at work. Have a think about your own onboarding experiences - are there ones that stand out for being brilliant, or terrible? What made them so? And what about how you are onboarding new starters? What would make this experience more valuable for people? A flawless onboarding process is a game-changer 🚀 Talking to another recruiter yesterday we were discussing the undeniable impact of a robust onboarding process. It's clear: a well-structured onboarding can set the stage for long-term success and retention. When new hires feel welcomed and prepared, they integrate more swiftly and effectively into their roles, making significant contributions right from the start. Creating an onboarding experience that includes mentorship, clear communication, and immediate engagement with projects fosters a sense of belonging and purpose. The statistics back this up: according to the CIPD, companies with strong onboarding processes improve new hire retention by 82% and productivity by over 70% (CIPD, 2023). 💼✨ Have you experienced the impact of great onboarding? #OnboardingExcellence #EmployeeSuccess #TalentDevelopment
