🌍 This morning, FEAD participated in the stakeholder consultation on the CoR opinion regarding the role of local and regional authorities in the transition towards a circular economy! FEAD believes that local and regional authorities can play a role in: 🔄 Policy development: Local and regional authorities can lead in creating and implementing regulations promoting circular practices. 🏢 Circular procurement: Authorities can champion sustainable purchasing, boosting the use of recycled materials. 🚮 Infrastructure development: Urgent deployment of waste treatment technologies is crucial to meet EU targets. 📢 Education and awareness: Authorities play a vital role in educating citizens and businesses on waste management importance. 💡 Innovation and entrepreneurship: Supporting circular economy businesses and fostering research partnerships. 💼 Collaboration and networking: Forming partnerships and networks to share best practices and strategies. 📊 Monitoring and reporting: Gathering data and evaluating policies to track progress towards circular economy goals. 🌱 Local and regional authorities are key change agents, shaping a sustainable future for communities.
