When it comes to Dutch architecture, opinions can be polarized. Some argue that it's always been, and continues to be, boring. But is that truly the case? Aaron Betsky challenges this notion of Dutch architecture as boring in his thought-provoking article on Dezeen. He highlights the diverse range of architectural styles and perspectives that Dutch architects offer, from the iconic works of Rem Koolhaas to the innovative designs of Wiel Arets and Jacob Van Rijs. My personal question is, is industrialization of the architectural practice what is causing the monotony of the boxes mentioned in the article, or will we continue to blame regulations? #DutchArchitecture #ArchitecturalPerspectives #DesignDiversity Link to article: https://lnkd.in/eAn7pReT

The Influence Of Post-Modernist Architecture The architectural landscape of the 20th century was dominated by the Modernist movement, which championed simplicity, functionality, and a rejection of traditional ornamental elements. However, as the century progressed, a growing dissatisfaction with the rigidity and uniformity of Modernist architecture began to emerge, paving the way for a new era of architectural expression – Post-Modernism.
