When someone asks me what I do for a living, and I tell them I am a personal trainer, I always feel the need to follow up with, “but I have my masters degree in occupational therapy”. I love personal training. I know how valuable personal training is. But I still feel the need to say it. My biggest goal with Eastside Athletics is to professionalize the fitness industry. To me, professionalism means being prompt, present and prepared during our sessions together. It is providing value that surpasses what other trainers can or will offer. It’s utilizing evidence-based training protocols, not the newest trends on the gram.
