Unbelievable. The commercialization of faith in today's world is deplorable. Visited a temple in Gurgaon recently and witnessed live pigs being sold as Prashad at the temple gate. The concept of sacrificing innocent souls for the pleasure of a deity is alarming. I couldn't bring myself to enter the temple. It seemed more like a commercial shop exploiting the name of the goddess to sell animals as products at exorbitant prices. This raises some critical questions: - How can humans overlook the pain animals endure when separated from their families and slaughtered in front of their eyes? - Why aren't NGOs and activists intervening to stop such practices disguised as faith-based acts? - Where is the legal system in addressing these inhumane activities? The disconnect between the reality on the ground and the actions of those in power is disheartening. It's moments like these that make me wish for a world where humans walk in the shoes of other species. Disappointment at its peak. #justiceforanimals #injustice #saveanimals

A few days back, while returning home to, I passed by the Beas River in Punjab and saw something that had really pained me. Right after the beautiful celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi, the process of immersing Shri Ganesha idols in the river itself was nothing but heartbreaking. It was as if we are losing the spiritual significance of the ritual and forgetting that, in our hurry to celebrate, we might forget the true meaning of it all. The sight of idols, many of them from non-biodegradable material, polluting our rivers set me thinking of how we might better strike a balance between our devotion and concern for the environment. It felt as though, for some, ritual had turned into mere show rather than a genuine reverence. I want to note this statement with the highest levels of respect towards all faith and tradition. If my words have caused a dent in somebody's feelings, I am truly sorry for the same.
