I am excited to finally be able to make this post. ATTENTION Nursing Faculty Members: Do you feel like you belong in your workplace? Does it matter to you whether you belong in your workplace? I am conducting research as part of the requirements for a Doctor of Nursing Education degree at Liberty University. The purpose of my research is to explore the relationship between nursing faculty sense of belonging and intent to stay at their institution. To participate, you must teach full-time, in the United States, in an online or face-to-face role for an Associate, Baccalaureate, Masters, or Doctoral nursing program. Participants will be asked to take an anonymous, online survey, which should take about 10 minutes to complete. If you are interested and eligible, please click the link provided at the end of this post. An information sheet is provided as the first page of the survey. To take the survey, click here: https://lnkd.in/gCAq8eqe

I am currently engaged in a research project focused on improving the experience of nursing students who return to higher education after an interruption in their studies. Aligning with the invaluable work done on the NHSE/HEE RePair projects, my aim is to delve deeply into the challenges and facilitators that these students face. The wealth of data and narratives gathered highlight significant concerns and areas needing support, and my research seeks to listen closely to these voices. By understanding and addressing these key factors, my goal is to develop strategies that enhance support systems, ensuring these returning students can succeed academically and contribute effectively to the nursing workforce. In light of the current political climate, The NHS workforce plan aims to double the number of nursing students, but without addressing the existing issues faced by returning students, we risk exacerbating current challenges. I invite Higher Educational Institutes and Academics to challenge yourself with these two questions: What specific challenges do you think are the most pressing for returning nursing students at your institution? What innovative support programmes have you seen or implemented that could be adapted for returning nursing students? I believe together, we can develop evidence-based strategies and interventions that not only support returning nursing students but also strengthen the future of our nursing workforce.

Considine et al. (2020) explored the usage and outcomes associated with team-based learning in nursing education using peer-reviewed articles in this article. Team-based learning (TBL) is a highly structured, evidence-based, student-centered learning strategy) where students are assigned to permanent teacher-driven teams of six to seven students (Considine et al., 2020). TBL is great because it has students active and engaged with their learning. TBL also builds upon students' ability to collaborate with others and develop communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills (Considine et al., 2020). It has been shown that this method of TBL greatly enhances student outcomes. It was concluded that although TBL has several advantages, there is still room for improvement and more research.
