Now, we see Korean telcos are pushing for Opem RAN technologies too. It further validates the maturity of Open RAN and it will be a pathway for 6G too.
The O-RAN Alliance F2F meeting was held in Korea, hosted by SKT supporting with ORIA(Open RAN Industry Alliance), TTA(Telecommunications Technology Association) The Alliance is a global organization leading the standardization of open RAN technology, with more than 300 companies worldwide. At O-RAN 6G Workshop, held under the theme 'The Road to 6G Standards', SKT presented the evolution of the next infrastructure and the importance of Telco Edge AI infrastructure as a core technology.
