Here are some common misconceptions and the truth behind them. 👇 Myth 1️⃣: Insulin is required for cells to take up glucose. This myth suggests that insulin is like a key that opens the gates for glucose to enter cells. If this were true, people with Type 1 diabetes wouldn't survive. The reality is that insulin's main job is to stop the liver from producing too much glucose. Think of insulin as the brakes on your car, not the key to start it. Myth 2️⃣: Type 2 diabetics don’t produce insulin. People with Type 2 diabetes do produce insulin, often in large amounts. The problem is their bodies have become resistant to it.
