Good day to you all! I am a computer programmer, web developers, and a robotic enthusiast. I am planning to pursue a bachelors in Computer Engineering or related major in Ghana. But the reason behind me choosing this route is to be a manufacturer of digital devices such: mobile phone, laptops, TV, etc. But my problem is, there are lot of Computer Engineering graduate who has graduated from KNUST, University of Ghana, Kumasi technical, Accra Technical, Takoradi Technical, and a lot more. These are all great institutions. Yet, I have not seen anyone or any company producing digital devices in Ghana. Rather, a lot of graduates in these fields become phone repairers, power plant engineers or similar occupation. Even though I can do those, that's not my motive. My question is, regarding the manufacturing of digital devices, is it that the educational standard in Ghana doesn't teach that aspect, or the creativity level of the graduates are low, or people don't invest in these ideas, or lack of financial resources, or the Ghana government needs to procure certain machineries to aid the manufacturing process. I really need your feedback to determine whether it worth for me to pursue that academic major.
