Recently, two important new resources have been made available to help veterans in connecting to Registered Apprenticeship opportunities. The Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS) has developed a new apprenticeship web page featuring numerous resources that veterans can utilize. Additionally, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has released a new Frequently Asked Questions summary to educate the public about the Veterans Apprenticeship and Labor Opportunity Reform (VALOR) Act. This law streamlines how multi-state apprenticeship programs are certified so that their veteran apprentices can use their educational benefits to support their apprenticeship training. https://ow.ly/vE3T50QJVUj #workforcedevelopment Apprenticeship NH

As we wrap up #NAW2024, we’re proud to celebrate the growth of the apprenticeship movement in Indiana. In a recent report from Apprenticeships for America on how states are driving the expansion of apprenticeships, Indiana was listed as a top five state for proportion of apprentices in the labor force in 2024. We’re excited to continue progressing the apprenticeship movement and connecting workers with education and training opportunities that prepare them for in-demand careers. https://lnkd.in/ejBQCK5A

Do you know the last time the National Apprenticeship Act was updated? 1937! The National Apprenticeship Act (NAA) authorizes the U.S. Department of Labor to manage the registered apprenticeship programs (RAPs) system. As an effective “earn-and-learn” system, apprenticeship programs need federal investment that can enable evolution to the needs of today’s learners, workforce, and industry. How can this investment grow apprenticeships alongside Career and Technical Education?

Q: Are all apprenticeships union-based? A: No. Apprenticeships are used widely across all industries and include union and non-union programs. Registered Apprenticeship sponsors can include unions, but also employers, community colleges and universities, workforce investment boards, industry associations, and the military. #MsApprenticeships
