July is the perfect time to pause, reflect, and review as you reset your goals, refine your strategies, and celebrate your wins. This process helps you assess your progress, make necessary adjustments, and realign your focus to better position yourself for the second half of the year. In this month's blog, I share tips I learned from my love of basketball. Basketball, like life and business, is a game of strategy, adaptation, and perseverance. I couldn't think of a better metaphor to drive this point home. Consider this an assist in setting up a winning strategy to take your personal and business endeavors to the next level and beyond. Click the link below to get started. P.S. I would love to hear your thoughts on this month’s blog. Please share in the comments or drop me a DM.

Anyone else feeling the September conference season excitement/dread? I love seeing fellow marketers + customers, but currently feeling hectic in planning mode. Here are the conferences I’m going to: 🌁 Product Marketing Alliance San Francisco: Stop by our booth for limited-edition Navattic swag. I’m trying a new theme for our booth, if you’re there would love feedback on it. 🍁 Exit Five Drive: I’m giving a talk on “How To Say No To Your CEO and Leadership Team” Most conference talks I’ve heard teach you how to learn a new skill or do more work. Excited to switch it up and talk about how to do less work :) I’ve done plenty of virtual talks but not many live ones. Would love any tips on live public speaking. See you in SF and Vermont 👋

Leadership is not about being in charge. Leadership is about taking care of those in your charge.

This video really helps us to understand the responsibilities you have as a leader. I’ve been privileged to work with some amazing leaders. All who helped me to achieve things I never thought I could. They made me believe in myself when I didn’t believe. They empowered me and supported me when I made mistakes and provided a safe space to own my mistakes. Leaders will have their own style, but the key fundamentals remain the same. Look after your team as humans, treat them fairly and with kindness and they will do more for you and the organisation than you’ve ever hoped.

We're living and leading in uncertain and even chaotic times. Throughout my career I've seen company culture and leadership behaviors turn toward data to validation more than innovation. In these times, there's a greater need for servant-based leaders who get their rewards through the growth and achievements of their team members and colleagues. As always, Simon cuts right to the heart of best mindset for leaders. #leadership
