Between AI's Limitations and Potential: A Woman’s Presence Makes All the Difference ♀️🤖 It’s been a while since I last tested ChatGPT, and I have to admit, I was impressed when it previously managed to speak Lebanese and Egyptian dialects. The Egyptian dialect? Spot on. The Lebanese dialect? Still some inconsistencies. One thing that stood out during my voice chat experiment was how it defaulted to addressing me as a man. When I asked why, it explained that it couldn't recognize the speaker’s gender to address them appropriately. This raised an interesting challenge for me: could ChatGPT learn to communicate in a gender-neutral way through voice interactions? While it performed decently in text-based chats—remembering corrections from previous conversations, even months ago—it struggled to replicate this intelligence in voice chats. Despite my efforts to teach it gender-neutral phrasing, it consistently made mistakes. This highlighted a gap between how it processes and retains information in text versus voice interactions. Curious about the latest updates, I plan to put ChatGPT to the test again soon. OpenAI has made strides in the AI world with models like o1 which follows chain of thought to reason out the best solutions to problems.
