🌞 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗯𝘆 𝗘𝗣𝗙𝗟! 🌞 The solar energy landscape is evolving, and EPFL is at the forefront of this change. A team of brilliant researchers has leveraged artificial intelligence to discover new materials that promise to revolutionize solar panel technology, making it more efficient and cost-effective. 🔍 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁: Researchers at EPFL have developed an AI-based method that has successfully identified 14 new materials ideal for future photovoltaic cells. These materials are not only more efficient but also less expensive to produce, heralding a significant advancement in solar energy technology. 🔬 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘃𝘀𝗸𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀? While silicon has dominated solar technology, the focus is shifting towards perovskites. These materials are cheaper and simpler to manufacture. However, finding the right perovskites that can absorb sunlight and convert it into electricity efficiently without heat loss is crucial. This is where the breakthrough from Haiyuan Wang and Alfredo Pasquarello, along with collaborators from Shanghai and Louvain-La-Neuve, comes into play. 📊 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆: The team initially created a precise dataset on 246 perovskite materials through sophisticated calculations. They then developed an AI-driven machine learning model to identify the most promising candidates from 15,000 potential materials. This led to the identification of 14 new perovskites with high energy stability, making them excellent candidates for high-efficiency photovoltaic cells. 🏆 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁: "These discoveries could lead to the production of more efficient and less expensive solar panels, setting new standards in the solar industry," says EPFL. This research marks a significant step towards achieving more sustainable and affordable solar energy solutions. 🎉 Let's celebrate this incredible achievement and the promise it holds for a greener future! 🌱 To know more (Source, french): https://lnkd.in/eEtfMHsk #SolarEnergy #Innovation #ArtificialIntelligence #Sustainability #RenewableEnergy #EPFL #Research #CleanEnergy #FutureTech #GreenTech #EnergyEfficiency #Perovskites #SolarPower 💡 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀: - Haiyuan Wang - Alfredo Pasquarello - Collaborators from Shanghai and Louvain-La-Neuve 🚀 Together, we are driving the change towards a sustainable future! 🚀
