The EU and its member states need to adopt a full-spectrum response to really tackle the rising tide of diabetes. This will save and improve lives, as well as make both our economies and health systems more sustainable and resilient. The European Diabetes Forum (EUDF) has united all the main voices in diabetes across Europe, but we need the Pledge to be seen, discussed, distributed and adopted by future members of the EU parliament. For this reason, we seek the support of all those who care about people living with diabetes. Now is the time for action and we urge you to sign and share the Diabetes Community Pledge today. https://lnkd.in/ezHChZDD

The recent upsurge of mpox in Africa was declared a PHEIC by WHO because of the risk of international spread and the need for a coordinated global effort. The recent detection of travel-associated clade I cases in Sweden and Thailand, the first reports outside Africa, is indicative of the potential for clade I mpox to spread from Africa to the rest of the world, reminiscent of the 2022 global clade II outbreak.15,16 The time for global solidarity and partnership is now.
