Communities across the Southeast have been devastated by Hurricane Helene’s impact. If you would like to help survivors on their path to recovery and rebuilding, it’s important to remember to do so responsibly. Leave the on-the-ground assistance and recovery planning to the trained professionals. Instead of going by yourself to an affected area, or collecting donations to deliver to families in need, we urge you to donate financially 💸 to recognized relief organizations or join an established group that can offer guidance on how to best support impacted communities. Your desire to help is commendable—let's work together to ensure our support makes the greatest impact to those in need. The best way to help is to offer your time, money, or voice to established, charitable organizations that have the experience to direct your given resources to reach survivors. Together, we can help affected communities in their path to rebuilding stronger. 💡Hurricane Helene: How You Can Help! After disasters like Hurricane Helene, many want to send water, blankets, or food. But while well-intentioned, these items often overwhelm aid organizations with the logistics of sorting, storing, and distributing. The most effective way to help right now is through monetary donations to trusted charities, ensuring resources reach the hardest-hit areas quickly. Here’s who’s making an impact: 🔴 **American Red Cross** – Providing shelter, food, and emotional support on the ground. 🌎 **World Central Kitchen** – Serving meals to victims and responders, led by Chef José Andrés. 🏠 **All Hands and Hearts** – Rebuilding homes, schools, and infrastructure. 🤝 **The Salvation Army** – Offering food, shelter, and spiritual care. 🌐 **United Way** – Supporting immediate relief and long-term recovery. Cash donations give these organizations the flexibility to buy what’s needed most and often support local economies in the process. Let’s make sure our help is truly helpful. #HurricaneRelief #HeleneRecovery #SmartSupport

Friday Reflection Supporting Hurricane Helene Survivors Today, I want to acknowledge the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene, which made landfall on the Florida Gulf Coast as a Category 4 storm. This disaster has caused widespread flooding and destruction, resulting in a tragic death toll of 215. As rescue crews continue to search for survivors, I, along with many others in the People Leadership community, extend our heartfelt concern and support to those affected. I've seen some great ideas shared online to help those impacted by this catastrophe. Here are a few suggestions: Donate: Consider donating to reputable relief organizations like the American Red Cross or research Charity Navigator for a charity you feel passionate about. Volunteer: If you're in the affected area, see if you can volunteer your time to help with relief efforts. Spread awareness: Share information about relief efforts and donation opportunities on social media to help raise awareness. Please share any other ideas or resources that you think might be helpful to those affected by Hurricane Helene.

As I respond to text messages checking in to see how we weathered Hurricane Helene and scroll through pictures of downed trees and flooded streets, I find myself thinking about disaster #fundraising. Over the next few weeks, millions will be donated to support those impacted by this storm. People will pull out their credit cards without even thinking. Why? Because of the urgency of the need. People who lose their homes need our help. People with nowhere to go need our help. People trying to figure out what happens next need our help. Urgency. When #donors understand the urgency of the need in front of them, they are more willing to act. The need doesn't have to be a disaster or an emergency for it to be urgent. #majorgifts #donorsnotdollars

Hurricane Helene has left a trail of devastation across the Southeast, and many are wondering how they can help. Here are some ways you can make a difference: Volunteer: If you're in the affected area, consider volunteering your time to help with cleanup and recovery efforts. Check with your state's Emergency Management Division for information on how to get involved. Check out some photos from GCG's recent trip to Western Carolina where we volunteered with Samaritans Purse! Donate: Several organizations are accepting financial donations to provide essential resources to those affected by the storm. Consider donating to the Florida Disaster Fund, the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund, or the One SC Fund. Spread the word: Share information about how others can help on social media and with your networks. Even small actions can make a big difference in the lives of those who have lost so much. Our neighbors in Western North Carolina need YOUR help!! We have put together a virtual donation spot where you can donate to help those impacted by Hurricane Helene. https://lnkd.in/e4K5j4Sr 💸 100% of the proceeds collected will be going to the disaster relief from Hurricane Helene “Cash is best,” according to FEMA’s website. It’s the most effective, flexible way to aid organizations. FEMA recommends donating to verified organizations directing money to on-the-ground groups that know what communities need. 🚗 North Carolina government agencies are urging people to avoid affected areas. Please refrain from deploying resources or supplies on your own without coordinating with established organizations that have the necessary infrastructure. https://lnkd.in/e4K5j4Sr 📲 NC REALTORS® has filed a request for housing-related assistance from the REALTORS® Relief Foundation. You can contribute to by texting HeleneRelief24 to 71777, visiting RRF.realtor, or sending a check. #hurricanehelene #disasterrelief #wncstrong #ncstrong #helpingneighbors
