As we unite in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl, let us duly note that not all were as fortunate following the disaster. An alarming number of our neighbours find themselves displaced or worse. Should you find yourself in a position to offer assistance, kindly consider extending your support. Unable to personally deliver supplies to those in dire need? Fear not! Communities across the Southeast have been devastated by Hurricane Helene’s impact. If you would like to help survivors on their path to recovery and rebuilding, it’s important to remember to do so responsibly. Leave the on-the-ground assistance and recovery planning to the trained professionals. Instead of going by yourself to an affected area, or collecting donations to deliver to families in need, we urge you to donate financially 💸 to recognized relief organizations or join an established group that can offer guidance on how to best support impacted communities. Your desire to help is commendable—let's work together to ensure our support makes the greatest impact to those in need. The best way to help is to offer your time, money, or voice to established, charitable organizations that have the experience to direct your given resources to reach survivors. Together, we can help affected communities in their path to rebuilding stronger. Check out these verified organizations to see how you can help: ➡️ National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster https://lnkd.in/eGGKXMZX ➡️ American Red Cross https://lnkd.in/dFuKvbvb ➡️ The Salvation Army https://lnkd.in/eQN3rTaD ➡️ FEMA https://lnkd.in/e5HBCyqy #HurricaneHelene #TropicalStormHelene #hurricanerelief #hurricanerecovery #disasterrelief #disasterresponse #disasterrecovery #disasterdonations #hurricanedonations #stormrelief #stormresponse

As I respond to text messages checking in to see how we weathered Hurricane Helene and scroll through pictures of downed trees and flooded streets, I find myself thinking about disaster #fundraising. Over the next few weeks, millions will be donated to support those impacted by this storm. People will pull out their credit cards without even thinking. Why? Because of the urgency of the need. People who lose their homes need our help. People with nowhere to go need our help. People trying to figure out what happens next need our help. Urgency. When #donors understand the urgency of the need in front of them, they are more willing to act. The need doesn't have to be a disaster or an emergency for it to be urgent. #majorgifts #donorsnotdollars
