GAFSP's new $75 million investment window is a promising step towards addressing the urgent need for financial innovation in the agri-food sector. By de-risking private investments and supporting #blendedfinance solutions, GAFSP is creating a more enabling environment for transformative agricultural investments, particularly in underserved regions. This initiative has the potential to significantly boost #foodsecurity and agricultural development in low-income countries, especially as the global food system faces increasing challenges due to climate change and supply chain disruptions. It's worth noting that the parties participating in this BIFT pilot (African Development Bank Group (AfDB), Asian Development Bank (ADB), IDB Invest, International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and IFC - International Finance Corporation) have been important players in the SME #agribusiness space in various developing countries.
