So, if you're traveling this holiday season - here are a few quick tips to help make your trip a little easier. 1. Arrive extra early. Plan to arrive around 2-3 hours before your flight. 2. Sit near the front. Ensure you can get an accessible seat or speak with an attendant at the gate. 3. Be one of the first to board so you have plenty of time to find your seat and settle. Here are some things to keep in mind if you are traveling: Heavy traffic: Expect heavy traffic on the roads, especially around major cities and popular tourist destinations. If possible, could you try to avoid traveling during peak hours? Flight delays: Flight delays may also occur, so be sure to check with your airline before you head to the airport. If you plan on traveling this Thanksgiving Holiday, pack some extra patience. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is prepared for the busiest Thanksgiving travel period on record and is projected to screen 18.3 million people from Tuesday, Nov. 26 to Monday, Dec. 2, representing a volume increase of approximately 6% from this time in 2023. Passenger volumes have reached record highs in 2024, with an increase of 17% since 2022. TSA projects the three busiest travel days will be Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the Sunday after the holiday.
