When you would be in Madrid coming week, visiting the global WEX Global conference, mark the Innovation Forum in your agenda: on Tuesday 5th 17.00h, I will be presenting Spatial Insight's SI-Design, our latest innovation. This very powerful algorithm calculates the optimal pipe diameter of drinking water networks. Fully automated. Give us one hour to generate a hydraulic model from asset data. Directly, fully automated. And another 24 hours to calculate the optimal diamaters of a 1000 km's network without any human interaction. We apply data science to save weeks or even months of precious time. And make sure you save CAPEX and carbon when replacing pipes in your water network. Developed in a trusted and appreciated collaboration with Richard Peerboom of WML. Let's benefit from data science together!

European Water Technology Week, September 23-26, a congress at the intersection of science, innovation, talent and business in water technology. An example of a scientific session: The world is full of unexpected but very much needed sensors. You could describe them as cyborg bacteria and digital phantom sensors. Improve you water monitoring with existing infrastructure. Join session 2.4 of #ewtw2024 to know more. As more and more substances have to be tested for quality control, the demand and price of lab tests rise – at that mostly to accommodate legal reasons. But what is you can get more out of your monitoring? Using existing sensors or relying on present biology could not only ensure you cheaper monitoring, but can tell you even more about the origin of your contaminants. This session will break it all down for you. https://lnkd.in/erT7HR89

How can we ensure data is properly collected, stored, and shared so researchers can conduct high-quality research? How easy is it really to share in collaborative international projects and what barriers do we face when it comes to successful data management? Both COST Actions & the National Science Foundation (NSF)'s AccelNet scheme aim to promote international collaboration for the advancement of science. Join us at #ScienceSummitUnga on 23/9 during the Science Summit at United Nations General Assembly (UNGA79) to discuss barriers and solutions to data sharing in an international context. Recently the US National Science and Technology Council released a forward-looking report called Vision, Needs, and Proposed Actions for Data for the Bioeconomy Initiative, that presents the groundwork for seamless data access and use across experiments and platforms. At Next Rung Technology we’ve seen planning and design through to the construction of commercial-size plants, and we work with our clients daily to share best practices around data management, so we thought we'd share some context and our insights on the matter in this latest blog post. https://lnkd.in/enTgusvb Stephen Lacy Josh Wimble #bioeconomy #datamanagement

When we're working on new plants we have the choice and the opportunity to develop a data infrastructure that contextualizes data and make it useful for future analysis. This can create a wealth of learnings for future-you without spending another dime on additional experimentation... Maybe you'll use past production data to validate a hypothesis about the mechanisms of particle formation of cell growth that you hadn't even dreamed up when running the pilot plant. I've had the opportunity to work on a lot of really interesting data projects in the past -- soft sensors, enhanced experimental designs, and Bayesian inference based parameter estimation for process modeling -- all of which would have been impossible with out good data management and access to historical data.
