Missing the Basics Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God. Matthew 22:29 Today's Scripture & Insight: Matthew 22:23–33 Jesus warned about how easy it is to miss the basics. Religious leaders, scheming to trap and discredit Him during the week He was crucified, posed a strange, hypothetical scenario about a woman who was widowed seven times (Matthew 22:23–28). Jesus responded, insisting that this knotty dilemma wasn’t a problem at all. Rather, their problem was how they didn’t “know the Scriptures or the power of God” (v. 29). The Scriptures, Jesus insisted, aren’t first intended to answer logical or philosophical puzzles. Rather, their primary aim is to lead us to know and love Jesus and to “have eternal life” in Him (John 5:39). These are the basics the leaders missed. We often miss the basics too. The Bible’s main aim is an encounter with the living Jesus. It would be heartbreaking to miss it.

Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 1 Corinthians 1:20 From the ancient world to the present day, how many philosophers have come and gone? How many ideas became little more than passing trends or failed experiments? Only the wisdom that comes from God is durable and eternal. And His wisdom always proves itself superior to even the best human thinking. Lord, as I take in the voices and ideas around me, I am swept up in a whirlwind of information. Help me to hear Your voice over the clamor. Give me the wisdom to recognize hollow and vain philosophies that are not of You. Instead, teach me to rely on Your truth, even if the world around me sways in another direction. In Jesus’ name, amen. #spiritualityandspiritualsouls #brainexpansiongroup

As Ginny Robinson shares in CULTure, 'Together, we should always strive to be the salt and light, especially in a world so increasingly drawn to the sweetness of falsehoods and the darkness of worldviews that lead us away from the life-giving message of Jesus Christ.' In a society captivated by misleading trends, this reminder to stay rooted in God's truth couldn’t be more important. Let’s be the salt and light that stands for Christ, even when the world pulls in the opposite direction. Get your copy of CULTure now at www.ginnyrobinson.com.

📚 Book Recommendation: "Life of Pi" by Yann Martel 🐅 Life of Pi combines my love for creative storytelling and open-mindedness when it comes to spirituality and religion. The protagonist is a nerd who had the misfortune of being endowed with an odd name that he was bullied for throughout his life " Piscine Molitor Patel (Pi)". Pi's approach to spirituality and beliefs, as someone who was born to parents who were raised Hindu but are not religious, is unique to him as a self-proclaimed lover of all religions, humans and animals to his parents astonishment. It is worth noting that Pi's parents, although not understanding their son's complex religious identity, did not at any point, try to change or dissuade him from it. Difference may exist on its own. It needs not be assimilated or understood as a threat to its counterpart. It is beautiful and enriching nonetheless. As we enter the holy month of Ramadan, let's draw inspiration from Pi's journey and celebrate the richness of diversity. May his story encourage us to embrace unity and compassion. 🌙 #LifeofPi #YannMartel #bookrecommendation #diversity #spirituality #ramadan #unity #compassion #acceptance #respect #tolerance #storytelling #humanity

𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗛 𝗢𝗙 𝗚𝗢𝗗 💨 Imagine yourself holding a lantern in the dead of night, each step uncertain, each sound a potential threat. This is the picture 2 Timothy 3 paints of the "last days" — times fraught with challenges, where people are "lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive" (2 Timothy 3:2, ESV). In the shadows of such times, where do you find your footing? Paul offers Timothy, and you, a luminary of hope — the sacred Scriptures. From childhood, Timothy was acquainted with these holy writings, which are "able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus" (2 Timothy 3:15, ESV). The Word of God is depicted not merely as a book, but as 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩 𝘰𝘧 𝘎𝘰𝘥, "profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16, ESV). How often do you feel adrift in the sea of life's complexities, yearning for an anchor? 2 Timothy 3 doesn't just highlight the perils of the times; it underscores the enduring power of Scripture to guide, to illuminate, and to transform. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 — 𝘢 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘯𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘶𝘴 𝘢 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘥𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘵𝘩. Paul's charge to Timothy echoes through the ages to reach you: remain steadfast in what you have learned, cling to the truth of Scripture. Amidst life's storms, this unwavering commitment to God's Word is your stronghold, your sure foundation. As you reflect on this passage, consider the place of Scripture in your life. Is it the cornerstone, the guiding light amidst darkness? Let this be a moment of introspection and, perhaps, a turning point. Embrace the Word, let it dwell in you richly, and witness how it reshapes your perspective, your choices, your very life.
