We—especially, perhaps, rabbis, pastors and bishops—tended to make ourselves the measure of all things. But a human’s measure – even that of an imam, rabbi, pastor, or bishop – is too tiny to comprehend the Almighty’s majestic vastness. ‘Tis why most people might not see that Higher Power at all, even though we live and move and have our being in this mysterious Majesty—again I am reminded of Martin Buber’s 'I and Thou'. Copilot: Indeed, the concept of our limited perspective in relation to the vastness of the universe and the divine is both humbling and awe-inspiring. Martin Buber’s “I and Thou” further explores this idea, emphasizing the importance of genuine encounters with others and with the divine. In this work, Buber distinguishes between two modes of relating: “I-It” (where we treat others as objects or means to an end) and “I-Thou” (where we engage in authentic, reciprocal relationships).
