Insights into new pilot programs and initiatives are really interesting too! #mentalhealth #research #outcomes #clientoutcomes #youthmentalhealth #qualitativeresearch #mbc #data #dataquality

Did you know that healthcare costs are projected to hit a 15-year high in 2025? Untreated behavioral health issues are a significant driver of those costs. NeuroFlow and the Association for Behavioral Health & Wellness are teaming up on November 21st at 2pm ET for a webinar that addresses all of this. Robert Capobianco (NeuroFlow), Kathie Snell (Aurora Mental Health & Recovery), and John Snook (Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute) will discuss how state policies are reshaping behavioral health strategies, driving cost reductions (think: 28% lower PMPM costs at Colorado Access), and improving patient outcomes. So if you want actionable insights on leveraging policy incentives and real-time data to optimize your behavioral health initiatives, this will be the place to be. Recent research reveals alarmingly low inclusion of intimate partner violence (IPV) content in the curriculum for Canadian medical, health, and mental health professionals. Despite the prevalence of IPV and its severe impacts on survivors, our healthcare providers are not receiving adequate training to recognize and respond to this issue, posing risks for survivors seeking help. We need to do better. Our healthcare professionals deserve comprehensive education on IPV to provide trauma-informed care and support to survivors. Addressing this gap in their training should be a priority. https://ow.ly/taoa50StLnN

In 2023, we boldly sought to help every single Texan in need of mental health care, and our guidance for state legislators helped secure record funding for behavioral health across the state. Federal policymakers recognized our #mentalhealth successes in Texas as a model for states and communities across the country, inviting our guidance and expertise at the national level to help secure an unprecedented amount of mental health program financing in the 2023 federal budget for data-driven programs designed for maximum impact. Returned a few days ago from a great conference by the Society for Implementation Research Collaboration. If you're into #implementationscience it's a great opportunity to meet people doing meaningful work in the field. Two takeaways: - The fishbowl method was a great tool for engaging diverse voices in a discussion on the gap between research and practice in IS. - The symposium on accessing digital mental health services shed light on an underappreciated factor that can spell success or failure in program implementation: procurement! It was a good reminder that, when designing public health interventions, we need to make sure that EVERYONE involved in making a program happen is represented. (And, it wouldn't kill us to learn more about contracting!)
