Well this is why I love Communications 💪! The usage of visual means, inspiring storytelling and the human factor, can create a combination that can skyrocket 🚀 an Aviation-Hospitality Marketing campaign!
With an initiative called “Destination Unknown” SAS - Scandinavian Airlines scheduled a flight to a surprise destination 🎁 for the winners of its mystery flight lottery. The winners had the chance to spend a sunny weekend ☀️ in the Greek capital …Athens 🏛️!
Although the idea is not new, projects like this tend to be extremely popular. In the case of Aviation-Hospitality ✈️ such projects are beneficial for both the Airlines and the local DMOs (Destination Marketing Organisations) because they create a buzz that leads to an increase in the number of flight tickets 🎫 being sold as well as an increase of the demand for the depicted destination.
As a Marketer, I really enjoy analysing the campaigns I encounter, because it helps me to have a better understanding of how people tend to react on the different messages they receive 🙏.
