This month we have intern students visiting our TV MA studios in Shinagawa and Akasaka! We welcome one student each week at each studio to also observe actual MA work on TV programs. We hear that there are not many opportunities for interns in the post-production industry... We hope this is a good opportunity for students to imagine themselves working in the post-production industry in the future!

“At 9 years old, I began my trainee life, spending the next decade perfecting every step, cleaning practice rooms, and pushing through long hours before finally debuting.” This is a story that many K-pop artists share when reflecting on their years as trainees. Growing up in the industry, learning to work with seniors, cleaning practice spaces, and enduring intense training to eventually become global stars—it’s a narrative that’s undeniably fascinating. Yet, is this the only path to stardom? When I first encountered the American music industry, I was struck by a key difference: the Korean system revolves around creating artists from a young age, while in America, labels typically seek artists who’ve already built a unique identity and following. Here, the companies support and amplify what the artist has already developed, instead of shaping them from the ground up. In contrast, K-pop idols undergo structured training in large agencies like SM, JYP, or HYBE, with young trainees dedicating years to dance, singing, interviews, and even language classes. While some American artists, like Sabrina Carpenter or Olivia Rodrigo, also start young, their paths are still different from the all-encompassing Korean system. Previously, when I worked at a Hollywood company, I created content comparing the K-pop industry to Western music industries. K-pop trainees start early, receiving training in dance, singing, interviews, and even language classes. What was the American reaction? The comments were harsh. Some said, “K-pop artists are like boring robots,” while others expressed sympathy for the intense childhood training. Some even jokingly wished that American artists could at least receive media training. Neither side is entirely right or wrong. The Korean system has undeniably propelled stars like BTS to worldwide fame, spreading Hallyu (the Korean Wave) far beyond Korea. But as much as this approach builds polished, cohesive groups, it raises questions: what is the true cost of sacrificing childhood for training? In an era that values individuality, is it necessary—or even fair—to ask young trainees to fit a company’s ideal? #Kpop #MusicIndustry #Entertainment #BTS

Why is goal setting important? Clear goals are essential for success. In a company, we set clear goals to create effective strategies. It is imperative to align job responsibilities with our objectives. Achieving these goals reflects the company's performance and readiness for future challenges. This approach also applies to personal career growth. Know our role, set clear goals, and find ways to achieve them. This helps us continually move forward and tackle future challenges. #OEPGroup #CareerGrowth #GoalSetting

This video we engaged for Rail Route has really managed to explode, now got 1 million views on bilibili within 5 days. Which indicate Influencers Campaign are most important and prefered in China. And beside of TOP influencers, niche influencers also important, there are reasons, for example niche target audience community, for example video content quality, for example higher convert rate, for example more support from KOC, for example resonating with Chinese culture and local events. Hardcore game content sometimes is hard to get wider awareness in mid-core or casual gamers, but it could happen with proper marketing solution, dedicated communication with influencers via phone call instead of email to polish and adjust solution, and also with some luck when launch. We contacted this influencers in person for days to discuss Rail Route game content and how to present to audience. In this video, influencer combine the Rail Route's hardcore content and Chinese New Year Transport Epic together. As you know, most Chinese people will move to their hometowns during Chinese New Year, so there was a lot of transport and traffic, about 500 millions trips, in a month. The most epic regular transport on earth so far. Now players pretend to become China rail worker in the Rail Route to manage trains, and they laughed whenever any mistake happened and mention it as their previous Chinese New Year Transport Epic experience. It definitely resonating with Chinese culture and local event. This was a result of dedicated discussion with influencer in person.
Things seem to be on the right tracks for the 1.0 launch of Rail Route. Based on the number of Steam reviews, China is the #2 market, with 91% of them positive, with sales being driven by great videos on Bilibili such as this one which has been viewed 708,000 times: https://lnkd.in/exAvSiKc A big congratulations to Bitrich.info LTD and Caketown Interactive #railroute

In South Korea's food industry, the trend of hiring "global talent" is becoming more popular. As K-food expands beyond Asia into North American and European markets, major companies are actively recruiting foreign employees. CJ CheilJedang, the largest food company in South Korea, recently launched a recruitment program targeting international students at foreign universities. Over 5,000 applicants, including those from prestigious schools like Harvard, Stanford, and MIT, applied to their internship program this July, and 18 were selected. The company’s sales from overseas have grown significantly, now making up nearly half of its total revenue. Other companies, like Ottogi and Samyang Foods, are also increasing efforts to hire foreign students for roles requiring local market expertise, such as marketing and global sales. Samyang Foods, known for its popular Buldak series, now generates 70% of its revenue from overseas markets and recently opened a European sales office in the Netherlands. The SPC Group, which manages brands like Paris Baguette, is prioritizing applicants with international experience and language skills, as it expands into markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Industry experts say that with the domestic market becoming saturated, expanding overseas is now a necessity for Korean food companies. Hiring international talent is seen as a key strategy for overcoming cultural barriers and growing into global enterprises. #korea #food #international #global https://lnkd.in/gqZKDXgy

What you need now is to boldly step beyond your comfort zone, to leap across the salary chasm. Only when you can approach people with an investment mindset can you break free from the cycle of endlessly searching for someone and settling for the status quo.
