Latinx & Hispanic Heritage Month spans from September 15 – October 15, and NAWBO Chicago would like to honor the contributions of #Latina and Hispanic women in business. These women are driving economic growth, launching businesses at an impressive rate and contributing to diverse industries across the U.S. 🔸 Latina entrepreneurs represent 14.3% of all women-owned businesses in the U.S., but their impact is growing! Between 2019 and 2023, the revenue of Latina-owned businesses increased by 17.1%, surpassing the growth rate of many other women-owned firms. 🔸 Despite challenges such as limited access to capital and smaller average business sizes, Latina women are resilient, creating more businesses during difficult times like the pandemic. Women-owned businesses added $579.6 billion in revenue and 1.4 million jobs during the pandemic alone. 🔸 Latinas are increasingly entering industries like healthcare, professional services, and finance, yet they still face obstacles such as access to capital and large-scale government contracts. With more support, Latina entrepreneurs could further elevate their businesses and the economy. Join us in celebrating their achievements and advocating for more opportunities to help Latina entrepreneurs thrive. Together, we can foster a more inclusive and prosperous business community. #nawbochicago #nawbo #nawbomember #networking #coaching #chicagobusinesswomen #chicagowomeninbiz #womenbusinessowner #femaleentrepreneur #femaleceo

Did you know that 80% of young people can’t name a SINGLE female entrepreneur? This morning ☕, I was reading about the "You’ve Got What It Takes" campaign by Female Founders Rise, led by Emmie Faust, and it really struck a chord with me. 🤝 The initiative aims to empower women entrepreneurs, providing them with the tools, resources, and support needed to thrive in business 🏆 One shocking statistic Emmie shared is that ONLY 15% of businesses in the UK are owned or led by women 🤯, a reality I’ve seen firsthand as a Latina businesswoman in the UK. 🙅♀️ As women, and especially as women of colour or non-native english speakers, the challenges can seem overwhelming. We often face cultural, language, and societal hurdles that make the entrepreneurial journey even harder 🧗♀️. But initiatives like You’ve Got What It Takes are changing the narrative, showing us that we can succeed, and more importantly, that we don’t have to do it ALONE. ➕ As we strive for greater visibility, I’d love to shout out some incredible women in business: Emmie Faust, Rebekah Clark FRSA, Jas Schembri-Stothart, Victoria Peppiatt, Debbie Zaman, Catherine Ann Reid, Pamela Aculey, Annie Bartley, Sascha Evans, Eva Thorne, Ren Yi Hooi, Rebekah Lloyd, Dr. Dupe Burgess, Siddhi Mittal, Heinin Zhang, Anshika arora. 🤝 Get involved and find out more about the campaign here > https://lnkd.in/eaFhRks6 To every woman entrepreneur out there: Keep pushing. Keep building. And if you're looking for support, join this amazing free community Female Founders Rise. It’s a space where you’ll find encouragement, connections, and a network of like-minded women who are committed to breaking down barriers and building successful businesses. #WomenInBusiness #FemaleFounders #Empowerment #FemaleFoundersRise #Entrepreneurship #DiversityInBusiness

🚀 This #SmallBusinessWeek, we are thrilled to launch a recent partner-led report with the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business (CCIB) and the Diversity Institute on the Early Stages of Indigenous Women's Entrepreneurship. There are about 75,000 Indigenous businesses in Canada, with 33% owned by Indigenous women. Through entrepreneurship, they are creating their path toward self-determination and economic reconciliation. But the path isn't easy. In this report, supported by SSHRC-CRSH, we explore the experiences of Indigenous women entrepreneurs—how they transform their ideas into successful businesses, overcome systemic barriers like poor access to training and financing, and give back to their communities—and offer recommendations and wise practices to further their growth. ➡️Dive into the report here: https://bit.ly/3XStKC5 #WomenEntrepreneurs #IndigenousEntrepreneurs #IndigenousBusiness #EconomicReconciliation #TRC
