🌍🇫🇷 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗶𝗹𝘀 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰-𝟮𝟬𝟯𝟰 𝗔𝗠𝗥 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗺𝗮𝗽! 🇫🇷📜 In a major step forward, France has launched its new roadmap to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR), setting bold objectives for the next decade. This interministerial strategy, outlined by the Ministry of Health, focuses on three key pillars: 1. Enhanced surveillance, 2. Promotion of innovation, and 3. Optimization of antimicrobial use across human, animal, and environmental sectors. At Inbeeo, we are closely following this groundbreaking strategy, and here are some top insights: 🔍 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Strengthening collaboration across human, veterinary, and environmental health 💡 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁: Increased funding for diagnostics and treatments to combat resistant infections ⚖️ 𝗧𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: More stringent control on antimicrobial prescriptions and monitoring ⚙️ 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: France is also exploring new financial regulation mechanisms, including a "Netflix-style" subscription model for antibiotics, to address the challenges of developing and ensuring the supply of health products. This experimental model, which could apply to antibiotics used in both human and animal health, will be developed with input from key stakeholders across the health and tech industries. 📊 The Inbeeo team are excited to see how these initiatives will reshape the AMR landscape and drive better global health outcomes! 🌟 Contributions by Tania Savant, Consultant at Inbeeo! ✨ Stay tuned! Inbeeo will be presenting our latest research on AMR at #ISPOR2024 in Barcelona 🇪🇸, where we’ll dive deeper into these trends and offer actionable. Please contact Enzo Straccia and Christel Jansen to hear more! #AMR #AntimicrobialResistance #HealthPolicy #MarketAccess #Inbeeo #ISPOR2024 #Innovation #Healthcare #OneHealth

🤔 yet another French paradox 🤔 France has the highest rate of antibiotic consumption across major markets but yet enjoys one of the lowest rates of antimicrobial resistance in the world With ~25 daily defined doses of antibiotics used per 1,000 inhabitants, we French people love to eat these miracle pills at the first signs of coughing. For 20 years, the French government even had to sponsor TV campaigns claiming that "les antibiotiques, c'est pas automatique". So what is the key to keeping resistance at bay? I see 2 success factors: 🧑✈️ antimicrobial stewardship - it is about which antibiotic you use as much as it is about how much you use. France kills all its targets set by the WHO for using antimicrobials that cause less resistance 🛣️ access pathways - because the race against AMR never ends, you need to bring new therapeutic options to kill superbugs, constantly. Innovative antibiotics enjoy preferential access pathways in France, in a similar fashion to orphan drugs This is why access policy is so important. It's great to see French authorities anticipating the challenges that the next decade will bring. Thank you Tania for a nice summary 👇🏼 https://lnkd.in/e9FJBueG

🐄 Can you imagine how much #animalhealth and #humanhealth are connected? Today, 60% of #infectiousdiseases are shared by humans and animals alike, and 75% of emerging infectious diseases originate in animals. 🔎 #PREZODE (Preventing Zoonotic Disease Emergence) is an innovative international initiative with the ambition to understand the risks of emergence of #zoonotic infectious diseases, to develop and implement innovative methods to improve prevention, early detection, and resilience in order to ensure rapid response to the risks of emerging infectious diseases of animal origin. Launched by France in January 2021, it has become global and gathers 235 members from 77 countries, including 25 governments and more than 200 research organizations, among which CSIRO and The University of Queensland. ⁉ Want to hear more about PREZODE and animal health science in France, New-Caledonia and Australia?
