As a working mom, I have to buy my village and I feel ZERO guilt about that. This was the advice that a working mom friend told me that has stuck with me. The amazing ladies helping with laundry, grocery shopping, errands, animals, and childcare are MY village, and I truly would be suffocating without them. We have got to stop expecting the same thing out of working moms and stay at home moms. Because YES, they are both jobs and careers, but they are two completely different jobs and careers. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received about motherhood? Share below!

Working in BigLaw while navigating parenthood can be so challenging, especially for mothers. I chose the path to reduce my schedule to spend some quality time with my children. After adjusting to part-time work and welcoming my second child, I found myself at a crossroads, needing more time at home but facing a firm 'no' to my request for four additional weeks of unpaid leave. It was a moment that made me question my path forward. Join me as I share how I navigated these waters in this week's #DrivingDiversity. It’s a journey I think many of you will relate to, whether you’re in law or any other field striving for that elusive balance. #MomLawyer #WomenInLaw #WorkLifeBalance

In celebration of Mother’s Day, I would like to honor all mothers working at Madison Air and in the manufacturing industry. Mother’s Day is a day of celebration for those who nurture and love us unconditionally – moms, stepmoms, grandmas, foster moms, and caregivers. At Madison Air, we are committed to creating a culture that supports moms and caregivers. We believe you shouldn’t have to take a pay cut to have a family. That working moms (and dads) should be able to have families and also a path to prosperity. Flexible schedules and parental leave are just a few of the policies we implement to help entrepreneurs pursue both their personal and professional dreams. How did you honor that special person in your life this Mother’s Day? Happy Mother's Day in whatever form you choose to celebrate (or not). What I know is that since becoming a mother I have realised how much work we still need to be doing for mothers to feel supported, embraced and celebrated. Let's create more systems where mothers are respected. Let's foster workplaces where motherhood is not always an impossible choice between your life sphere and your career. Let's respect mother figures and mother circles. #motherhood #mothersday

Sometimes a child is born that radiates an old soul. This one is just born and wide awake. Is he an old soul and/or is he just being overstimulated by all the lights and noises of the maternity ward? There is a sensitive balance between letting a child 'sleep' and 'helping it wake up'. There are six basic parenting balances. Each balance is unique and dynamic. Each balance depends on the value system of the parents, the constitution of the child, the phase of its life and its surroundings (including the culture and time period in which it is born). We just published a course on the six basic parenting balances. https://lnkd.in/efc_FY83

In the debate between working moms and stay-at-home moms, it's important to recognize that neither title inherently defines a mother's worth. Whether juggling a career or dedicating oneself to full-time caregiving, the essence of motherhood lies in nurturing and supporting our children. It's about being attuned to their individual needs, dreams, and aspirations, and championing their growth and well-being. The measure of a mother's love and commitment transcends labels and societal expectations. It's not about where we spend our days or how we earn a living; it's about the actions we take to advocate for our children's well-being. 💚 True motherhood is reflected in the moments when we stand up for our children, fiercely advocating for their rights, happiness, and success. 💚 It's advocating for inclusive education, supporting their interests and passions, and creating a safe and loving environment where they can thrive. Being a good mom isn't about conforming to societal norms or adhering to predetermined roles. It's about embracing the unique journey of motherhood and nurturing a deep, unwavering bond with our children. It's about being their fiercest advocate, their unwavering supporter, and their greatest champion, no matter where life takes us or what challenges we face along the way. What do you think defines a mother? #motherhood #workingmoms #stayathomemom #wellbeing #parenting
