📣 Welcome to the LinkedIn page dedicated to the INCLUDE ME+ project ❕ A vital initiative to address the pressing challenges facing Europe through digital media. Europe has faced and continues to face enormous challenges, from pandemics to wars, crises, and the rise of non-democratic parties. In these turbulent times, both institutions and individuals look to the media not only for information, but also for unity and solutions. It is clear that now, more than ever, we need a media landscape that is calm, structured, inclusive and participatory. 🌐 Unfortunately, today's media often falls short of these ideals, showing a lack of sensitivity and responsibility. Sensationalism and ratings-driven reporting too often overshadow ethical considerations, perpetuate harmful stereotypes and discriminate against marginalised communities. The impact is profound, as misinformation spreads like wildfire, sowing confusion, panic and harm in its wake. At INCLUDE ME+, however, we recognise the immense potential of digital media when used responsibly. We believe that the media, in partnership with citizens, can be a powerful force for positive change, serving as a linchpin for social recovery and progress. Imagine if digital media creators embraced their role as mediators and champions of social causes - the transformative impact could be staggering. With this vision in mind, the INCLUDE ME+ project is committed to developing an educational programme that will empower higher education institutions (HEIs), media professionals, civil society organisations (CSOs) and students alike to become proactive and responsible collaborators in shaping the future of communication. Our goal is clear: to promote inclusion, participation and peacebuilding across Europe by equipping individuals and organisations with the tools and knowledge to navigate the digital landscape responsibly, and to cultivate a media environment that amplifies diverse voices, promotes understanding and drives positive social change. Join us in our mission to reshape the narrative and build a better, more inclusive future for all. Together, we can harness the power of media to drive meaningful progress and create lasting impact across Europe and beyond. 🚀 Follow us on Instagram ⏩ https://lnkd.in/deRrhxCH Facebook ⏩ https://lnkd.in/dB_ejwq8

I had to find a way to control my narrative before others ( They tried trust me and I paid for it heavy, they’ll use your own theories against you ) , who might not want to see this industry succeed, could shape it. This narrative is supported by those impacted, like you. What you see happening overseas is intentional. Over the past five years, we have been traveling state to state, pitching the concept of a unified collaborative. The Social Media Research Institute currently boasts 94 members via ( The Social Media Researchers Group Collaborative ) and counting, along with close to 23 advisory board members representing various industries ( Directly Supported over 15 years ). We set the standard; we are the most comprehensive, and we are here to support and help YOU understand and comprehend your Social Media Persona ( Google : #TripleConsciousTheory ). Our Priority: Changing the global perception of America and our approach to social media. We know some people give us the side eye and stare 😅… you know who you are! But without global guidance, our understanding wouldn’t be as robust. Shoutout to our #SocialMediaDiplomats around the world for their unwavering support. 1. Teaching, Not Competing 2. 🌍 Introducing the Council for European Public Space: We are an NGO think-and-do tank dedicated to fostering an open, fair, and safe digital public space in Europe. 🎯 OUR MISSION: The Council advocates for significant investments in digital infrastructure that serves public interest. We actively support initiatives from science, industry, and civil society, all aimed at creating a digital environment that protects rights and enhances public value. 🤝 WHY WE EXIST: Today, Europe's public sphere faces unprecedented challenges. The digital age has made the spread of misinformation and manipulation alarmingly easy, undermining democracy with hate speech, fake news, and exploitative algorithms. These issues obstruct the formation of informed opinions and productive discussions on critical matters. 💡 OUR VISON: Our goal is a democratic and more unified Europe, where a well-informed public can engage in meaningful dialogue and collective decision-making. By bringing together diverse viewpoints, the Council is working towards a future where the digital public space strengthens rather than divides our societies. 🔍 DO YOU KNOW ANY INITIATIVES ALIGNED WITH OUR MISSION? If you know of any initiatives from science, industry, or civil society that align with our goals, we want to hear from you! Share them with us in the comments or reach out directly. Together, we can foster a digital environment that serves the public interest and enhances the value of our shared digital space. 📩 Let's collaborate for a better digital future! #EuropeanPublicSpace #DigitalDemocracy #EU #PublicValue #UnityInDiversity

🌍 Happy International Youth Day 2024! 🌍 This year, we're celebrating with a powerful theme: "From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development." In our hyper-connected world, young people are using technology in incredible ways to make a real difference. Whether it’s raising awareness about climate change through social media or creating innovative apps that solve local problems, youth are leading the charge toward a more sustainable future—one click at a time. At the International Standard Center for Development, we’re inspired by the passion and creativity of the young people we work with every day. But we know that to truly unlock their potential, they need more than just access to technology. They need the skills, opportunities, and support to navigate the digital world safely and effectively. So today, let’s commit to making sure every young person has the tools they need to turn their digital presence into real-world progress. Do you know what is currently happening in European public libraries on the topic of digital, sustainability, and democracy? 🌐🌱💬 Last year, library professionals from across Europe gathered in Belgium, Denmark and Portugal for in-person thematic meetings on the topics of digital, sustainability, and democracy as part of the Future of Europe for Public Libraries (FEPL) project. A series of posters were created to summarise the collected insights and co-created knowledge from the thematic camps in an accessible and visual format. For each of the thematic areas the posters provide: 🖋️ Common language 🎯 Leading trends identified 📗 Policy recommendations 💭 Ideas for where we might go next 📣 The posters are a resource to be used for library advocacy work at local, national, and European level. ➡️ Read more about the FEPL project and download the posters: https://lnkd.in/gzViepK8 #PublicLibraries #Digital #Sustainability #Democracy

🌍✨ We are excited to be attending the Participation Forum 2024 in Tallinn, Estonia, on November 27 and 28! This event brings together around 150 participants from Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps National Agencies, civil society networks, and organizations across Europe to discuss democratic participation. Yesterday, New Power in Youth had the privilege of leading a session titled "Working Across Sectors and Learning from Each Other." Our presenters, Veronica Stefan and Aleksandra Mangus, shared valuable insights on enhancing collaboration across sectors to foster democratic participation. The presentation included case studies highlighting effective methods such as participatory budgeting, The Citizen Initiative Portal, platforms for voting, and the "NEETs for NEETs" project. In addition, Veronica and Aleksandra discussed the ongoing process of mapping good practices titled "Mapping Cross-Sectoral Practices," which runs from June 2024 until December 6th. We are actively seeking practices that are conducted in cross-sectoral cooperation and stimulate youth participation in democratic life. These practices should target young people or professionals working with them, feature inspiring methods that are non-formal, experiential, or alternative, and replicable. So far, we have gathered a variety of key practices, including: 🌍Participatory Budgeting 🌍Social Media Campaigns 🌍Online/Offline Courses and Skill Trainings 🌍Drama/Theater 🌍Socratic Dialogues 🌍Debates 🌍Deliberation Meetings with Decision-Makers 🌍Co-Creation of Action Plans and Policy Recommendations 🌍Events (Youth Forums, Plenary Sessions, Meetings) 🌍Qualitative Research 🌍Student Mobility (Exchanges, Camps) If you are involved in any good practices that align with these criteria, we invite you to contribute to our mapping process by sharing your insights through this link: https://lnkd.in/dwzq7rbt. As we look forward to exchanging experiences and building capacity, we are reminded of the power of collaboration. Together, we can inspire and empower each other to enhance democratic participation across Europe. 💪🤝 #ParticipationForum2024 #newpowerinyouth #civicengagement #DemocraticParticipation #erasmusplus #europeansolidaritycorps

As I begin to look back on 2024, I'm inspired by how far we've come in addressing digital exclusion. What’s unquestionable is that the national conversation has shifted from 'if' to 'how' we solve this challenge, with more cross-party support than ever before and an increasing recognition of digital access as a basic right. The critical issue is finally getting the attention it deserves, and a greater number of public-private partnerships have emerged to help bridge the digital divide. At Virgin Media O2, we've expanded our National Databank with Good Things Foundation to reach more communities than ever before. While there's still work ahead, I'm optimistic about 2025. I can’t wait to see even more collaboration between government, community organisations and businesses like ours. Let’s keep pushing forward together.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of speaking at an event organized by the Youth Arm of my church in celebration of International Youth Day, which was observed on August 12th, 2024. The theme for this year was "From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development." In my presentation, I emphasized the strong connection between technology and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), highlighting how young people are leading the charge in digital innovation and transformation. I shared how each click we make has an impact on our world and how technology has revolutionized the way we learn, communicate, and grow. During the session, I posed four key questions to the audience, and now, I want to extend these thought-provoking questions to my network here: 📌What do you click on? 📌How does your click impact others? 📌How does your click create a difference in your space? 📌What product or content have you created for others to click on? These questions are meant to inspire reflection, and I believe that every click we make can drive us toward progress. #internationalyouthday #Clicktoprogress
