It is our commonalities, not our differences, that bond us. In early April, I spent a week with nine veterans, in the mountains of Northwestern Montana. Our group was rather small, compared to past groups - 4 of us were hunting, the remaining 5 were support (guides, photographers, etc). Because of this, we got close, quick. Patrol Base Abbate is structured so that members work through guided discussions each evening, in an effort to create new bonds. But by the evening of the first night, we had made bonds and were having discussions that typically weren’t seen until the end of the third day. Many of those discussions were difficult. From women in combat to COVID mandates to disability ratings to PFT scales - if there was a contentious and difficult question to ask, we asked it. But never once did we fight. We never raised our voices. We never stormed out on one another. We heard each other out. We disagreed. And we moved on. Since returning back to our “normal” lives, we’ve stayed in close contact, talking nearly daily, if only to send one another a meme. That is what makes #veterans different. While we may not look the same or worship the same gods or vote for the same individuals, we are one, because we are veterans. And because those commonalities bind us, they will hold us together, regardless of all else that comes our way. 💬 @pbahuntclub on the gram 📸: Joshua Bent // Black Dog Creative Kathy // Kevin // Thomas #optout #hunting #camping #conservation #veteransstrengtheningamerica #onefishtwofish #returntobase

Cultivating affirmative sentiments towards pets can significantly bolster a person's self-esteem and confidence. Engaging in harmonious interactions with pets may serve as a foundation for fostering trust in relationships with fellow humans. Furthermore, a nurturing bond with a pet can enhance one's proficiency in non-verbal communication and foster a deeper sense of compassion and empathy.

👉As the sun dipped below the horizon, a family out for an evening stroll stumbled upon a distressed sight—a fawn trapped in a thicket, its tiny frame tangled amidst the branches. 👉Without hesitation, they rallied together, carefully maneuvering through the brush to reach the stranded creature. 👍With gentle hands and soothing voices, they worked to free the frightened fawn, offering reassurance amidst its fear. 👍Finally, with a collective effort, they succeeded, releasing the grateful animal back into the safety of the forest. 👍 As the family watched the fawn bound away into the twilight, their hearts swelled with a sense of fulfillment, knowing they had made a difference in the life of a helpless creature. #FamilyRescue #CompassionWins #WildlifeRescue #KindnessInAction #CommunitySupport #NatureLovers #Gratitude #HelpingHands #Empathy #RescueMission

As The Sato Project prepares for a big Freedom Flight this Sunday, I wanted to share something very special with you. Today we are launching a new campaign called #WeCantRescueOurWayOutOfThis - and with that campaign comes a startling, intimate look at the reality of the stray dog overpopulation crisis in #PuertoRico today. The island is now facing a public health crisis and we're on the brink of a situation we've never seen before in the history of our organization. I started rescuing in 2007, and my experience has prepared me for many challenges, but nothing like this. I made this video to give you a behind-the-scenes look at how we are addressing this issue systemically rather than by our old model of rescuing one dog at a time. Friends and followers like you have been a crucial part of our #SatoStrong community, helping us rescue thousands of dogs through Spayathons, Mission Possibles, and even in the midst of natural disasters like Hurricane Maria, Irma, and Fiona. But as the hurricanes worsen, adoptions plummet, and prices on the island surge, our backs are against the wall. We're facing a new type of storm. With 650,000 stray dogs roaming the streets and beaches of #PuertoRico, one dog at a time won't cut it. We can't rescue our way out of this. Operation Sato - a groundbreaking initiative that combines mass spay/neuter clinics with our rescue efforts is our solution. I call it our one-two punch approach. As you just watched, every patient that attends these events receives over $600+ in crucial medical services, including a surgical sterilization, vaccinations, microchip, preventatives, and testing for blood-borne illnesses. We urgently need to raise $150,000 by the end of September to continue providing these services to satos in need. Thanks to generous partners, every dollar raised this month up to $75,000 will be matched - doubling your impact. If you do anything today, watch this video, share it, post it. Please visit our website to make a matched contribution now. Your immediate action can save countless lives, and will directly reduce the suffering for more than half a million defenseless animals who cannot advocate for themselves. Thank you for giving what you can. Every dollar saves lives. Urgently and gratefully, Chrissy Beckles President & Founder The Sato Project www.thesatoproject.org https://bit.ly/3Xoxz2x

As we approach celebrations that often feature fireworks, it’s crucial to consider the broader impact these displays have on our communities. This graphic highlights the harmful effects of fireworks on animals, wildlife, and veterans, raising awareness about an issue that often goes unnoticed. ✨ Key Points to Reflect On: • Animals can experience severe stress and disorientation due to loud noises. • Wildlife habitats can be disrupted, affecting local ecosystems. • Veterans and individuals with PTSD may find fireworks distressing and triggering. Let’s engage in conversations about alternative ways to celebrate that are more inclusive and considerate of all beings. (Credit to the original creator, though I’m unsure who it is!)
