Grateful to the 600+ people who attended the MEED | Middle East Economic Digest webinar on the MENA Oil & Gas projects market on Monday (and stayed right through till the end). You were a diligent and discerning audience, and I thank you for your time. The main trends in the Middle East and North Africa's #oil, #gas and #chemicals projects market that I sought to highlight in the webinar are: 🔹The #MENA region🌍 saw record project spending in 2023, as operators accelerated critical projects following the Covid-19 pandemic. More importantly, project spending this year, at close to $98bn, has already exceeded that level. 🔹As the largest economy and biggest oil producer, #SaudiArabia🇸🇦 has dominated spending in the last 10 years. The #UAE🇦🇪 and #Qatar🇶🇦 are the second and third largest spenders, respectively. 🔹Every major #energy company intends to push forward with projects deemed critical to their strategic long-term goals🎯 in the remainder of this year and throughout 2025. For those who could not tune in live, and those reaching out to me for a recording of the presentation, the video has been posted on MEED's YouTube channel:
