Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences at TU/e’s Post

Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences at TU/e reposted this

Like our Dutch Sinterklaas sprinkles candy these days, the Dutch Research Council (NWO) grants the wishes of researchers from our university 🍬🍭🍫🍡! Because again, congratulations are in order. This time to EAISI – Eindhoven Artificial Intelligence Systems Institute and in particular to researcher Gijs Dubbelman 👇👏 for receiving a 4.4 million grant within the NWO’s Perspectief program to develop a novel pre-competitive AI ‘toolkit’. How cool!   But that’s not the only accomplishment for the TU/e within the Perspectief program. Researcher Hareld Kemps from our university will also participate in CardiacCare@Home by the Radboudumc, and researchers Emilia Barakova and Panos Markopoulos will participate in TACIT - Inclusive Technologies for Access and Social Participation by the TU Delft. The first is about developing technology to monitor heart function and promote rehabilitation within the home environment. The second focuses on making digital services better accessible to people with disabilities by using artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and augmented reality.   All promising and intriguing new scientific fields to discover! We’re keeping a close eye on them 🧐

TU/e-led AI consortium Foundation for Industry receives a 4.4 million grant from NWO, focusing on large AI models for a resilient high-tech industry! 🏆 Congratulations to Gijs Dubbelman and his team! The Foundation for Industry (FIND) project develops large artificial intelligence (AI) models that contribute to automating complex industrial tasks. It builds on international, state-of-the-art AI technology and will develop a novel pre-competitive AI ‘toolkit’ comprising documented and open-source trained models, the necessary software for training and integration, and validated research results. The total project budget is 6.4 million euros, of which 4.4 million is contributed by NWO and the remaining 2 million is contributed by the industry partners. Dr. Gijs Dubbelman, Associate Professor at TU/e and project leader, emphasizes the importance of this grant: "We advance AI, to make Dutch industries more productive and stay competitive“. The program is set to start in May 2025 and expected to generate 12 innovative applications in 3 domains: Healthtech, Smart Industry and Mobility & Robotics. It will last 6 years and will include 12 PhD and 3 Postdoc positions. Interested? Read more! 👇 https://lnkd.in/e5faZy99 #AInews #AIproject #AIforGood
