It doesn’t surprise me that #Sweden is one of the most innovative countries on the planet. Not a single member of Lucero Bio's founding team was Swedish when we spun the company out of Chalmers University of Technology back in 2020. And still, without: - Citizenship - Knowing how to speak Swedish (Jag lär mig fortfarande 🙂) - An extensive professional network in life science We have had access to, and been supported by, countless Swedish and EU: - Mentorship programs - Startup bootcamps - Public funding bodies - Investor networks and pitch competitions Not to mention the staggering number of brilliant individuals who’ve gone out of their way to give us advice and help us out without asking for anything in return. A special shoutout to: - Vinnova - Almi Väst - The European Research Council (ERC) - The European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) - EIT Health You’re help has been vital to Lucero’s #growth has laid the foundation for our future success. I sincerely hope that we can continue to work together in the future. For any #startup founders in Sweden looking to build and grow your company – reach out to these organisations. You’ll be (pleasantly) surprised by how much they can offer you. #lifescience #innovation #europe

Did you know? 🦄 Switzerland’s unicorn density is 6x higher than France's 📈 It has the second largest number of high revenue growth startups in Central Europe (including Relai 🇨🇭 and Aktiia 🎉) 👩🔬 2 out of the top 10 technical universities in the world are Swiss (shoutout to ETH and EPFL) #empoweringGameChangers - It was a pleasure to discuss Swiss tech with Éanna Kelly from Sifted for the Sifted 30: Central Europe 2024 report. Michael shared insights from his nearly 20 years as a Founding Partner of redalpine, covering topics such as Switzerland’s expertise in 'difficult tech' and why the arrival of giants like Google and Meta can be a double-edged sword in the battle for top tech talent. We're proud to play a role in building the Swiss tech ecosystem since 2006. We continue to strongly believe it has the right ingredients for startup success! 🌟 Highlights from a 3-Day Workshop at UCU Business School 🌟 Last week, I attended an enriching 3-day workshop at UCU Business School (LvBS) held in LIFT99 Kyiv Hub. Special thanks to CfE Accelerator UCU for extending an invitation to us. The focus of the event was on types of investments and media. 🔑 Key takeaways: - Build a Personal Brand: share case studies and problem-solving insights weekly on your chosen platform. It will help you be in sight of the media and help you find partners and clients in future. - Media Benefits: effective media coverage can solve many issues including client acquisition, HR branding, recognition, protection from information attacks, and higher valuation. - Investor Priorities: investors value fast growth, a focus beyond the Ukrainian market, and a clear sales and growth strategy over the product itself. - Value of Investments: attracting investments can accelerate growth, provide investor contacts, and offer support in the next stages. Always check investor reputation! - Investor Goals: always remember that investors aim to earn money and clarify how your startup can help achieve this. - Growth is Crucial: startups that don’t grow quickly may be seen as "zombie" startups or hobbies, which are red flags for investors. My gratitude to the inspiring speakers: - Oleksandr Yatsenko 🇺🇦 (SMOK Ventures) - Ivan Petrenko (CfE Accelerator UCU) - Andrii Brodetskyi (Horizon Capital) - Taras Kirichenko (Toloka.vc) - Roman Cherepakha (Horizon Capital) - Andriy Dovzhenko (smrk.vc) - Yana Paladiieva (Ukrainian Startup Fund) - Катерина Шаповал (Forbes Ukraine) - Illya Kabachynskyi (AIN.UA) - Julia Salizhenko (Platfor.ma) - Yelyzaveta Bordunova (vctr.media) #Innovation #Entrepreneurship #StartupFunding #MediaComms #UCU #LvBS #Kyiv #Workshop #Learning #Networking
