For Building Product #Manufacturers, executing a #BIM strategy that maximises specifier engagement and #ROI requires two crucial things.⬇️ 1️⃣ a BIM content library that's built to a high quality standard and actually useful to designers, and 2️⃣ a quality 'go-to-market' strategy that encompasses content Hosting, Marketing, Distribution, Tech Support, Usage Insights and ROI analysis. ❌ The greatest marketing and distribution strategy in the world won't provide value if the BIM content itself hasn't been created in line with best practices, and therefore won't be used by designers. (i.e. Just because someone downloaded it from your website doesn't mean they'll use it if they open it and see it doesn't work as expected.) ❌ …and equally, the greatest BIM content library in the world will generate minimal ROI if designers aren't aware of it, or have difficulty accessing it. BIMcontent.com generates opportunities for #manufacturers by making your BIM content directly accessible to our fast-growing userbase of 50,000+ #specifiers - Architects, Engineers, Contractors, Asset Managers - who are collectively working on billions of dollars in projects each year, and use the platform as a trusted 'first-port-of-call' for project design assets. In addition, our manufacturer partners benefit from the formulation and execution of effective specifier engagement marketing strategies to further enhance your brand. ✔️ By providing free and easily accessible BIM libraries to specifiers, manufacturers can foster stronger relationships with architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders. This bridging of relationships and digital collaboration improves design efficiency, project delivery workflows and fosters brand loyalty and repeat business. Building Product #Manufacturers, if you've invested time and resources into creating a comprehensive #BIMcontent library, that's great! 😉 But the journey doesn't end there... ⬇️ 🖥️ Manufacturers build BIM libraries with the goal of improving engagement and collaboration with specifiers, but simply creating #BIMobjects isn't enough. To truly leverage your BIM library, you need a strategy for getting it into the hands of specifiers and used in projects. Here's where many manufacturers stumble: ❌ Not making your content easily visible and accessible on your website, or neglecting to host it on your own website at all creates a missed opportunity to leverage your website traffic and directly showcase your BIM library to specifiers. ❌ Not hosting your BIM library on platforms frequented by architects and building designers like BIMcontent.com, means not capitalising on that userbase and less exposure of your BIM library. ❌ Not promoting your BIM library through social media, email campaigns, events, or online industry publications. ❌ Failing to equip your sales team with the appropriate knowledge hinders their ability to leverage it as a powerful selling tool. That's why our team at IGS Group (IGS BIM Solutions) created BIMcontent.com, a rapidly growing, free-to-use platform specifically designed to bridge the gap between designers and building product manufacturers. BIMcontent.com offers a central hub for manufacturer-created BIM content, with a focus on quality and consistency. ❇️ Don't let your BIM library become a missed opportunity. Get in touch with us at IGS Group (IGS BIM Solutions) to discuss your BIM strategy today. 💎 If you're a designer looking for high-quality BIM content, check out BIMcontent.com 😉

My dad used to say, "Throw your [fishing] line where the fish are biting". That's good advice for manufacturers now ... most projects are designed/documented in BIM (Revit or Archicad), so it makes sense to have your [product] line in those waters. #betterbim #revitcontent #archicadcontent #buildingproductmanufacturer #architecture #bimcontent
As the old saying goes, "Time is Money"... ⬇️ 🏢 Manufacturers who offer quality BIM content for their products are helping designers create their project deliverables and deliver their projects more efficiently than those who don't. 🏢 The implications of #manufacturers not keeping up with the needs of #specifiers in terms of the #technology they're using, and what they are needing from manufacturer partners, can potentially be detrimental to developing and maintaining relationships with leading design practices, fostering better collaboration and growing project specifications. 🏢 Not offering #BIM content for your products - something designers are increasingly seeking from product suppliers - may mean missed opportunities and being viewed as a less favourable partner in the eyes of architects and engineers. In this age of digital collaboration, BIM capabilities - or in a manufacturer's case, offering a BIM content library - is no longer a 'point of difference' or a 'luxury' - but an #expectation from specifiers and a key component of a manufacturer's specification sales and marketing strategy. At IGS, we specialise in developing holistic strategies for manufacturers to ensure: ✅ Your BIM Content library is developed in accordance with industry best practices and in line with the needs of your clients ✅ Your BIM Content is promoted to and viewed favourably by leading design firms via our BIMcontent.com platform. If you're yet to develop a BIM strategy, or if you have a BIM library and would like to generate more value from it, feel free to get in touch. 💪 Let's chat.

What designers think when they download poor-quality #BIM content from #manufacturers: 😡 More ⬇️ David Rose’s reaction says it all. “Why would you have allowed this to happen?” It’s a common frustration in the design community; dealing with BIM content from manufacturers (usually #Revit families) that’s poorly made and time-consuming to fix, or more common, a waste of time even trying. 🌐 In today’s era of BIM adoption, #manufacturers have an opportunity to be part of the industry's evolving use of BIM and gain a competitive advantage by providing high quality, 'project-ready' BIM content libraries. Poorly made BIM content not only reflects poorly on a manufacturer's ability to meet client needs, but also undermines the commitment to quality associated with their brand and products. A lot of the time this comes down to trusting the wrong people / companies to do the work. But although designers don't expect manufacturers to be BIM experts or to develop their own content, they do expect you to do your homework and engage a reputable partner. 💭 Remember, BIM content is a product in itself, and quality matters. Your BIM content is a reflection of your brand and your company’s dedication to excellence. ➡️ If you're a manufacturer looking to improve your BIM content and better engage with designers, contact us at IGS Group (IGS BIM Solutions) to find out how we can help. ➡️ If you are a designer searching for Revit (BIM) content created to a consistent, high-quality standard to use in your project, explore our extensive FREE collection at BIMcontent.com 😉

#BIM Library Creation is a #Team Effort 🤝 Whilst the skills to develop quality BIM objects in #Revit and #Archicad requires both an intimate understanding of the particular software and project delivery experience, the process of creating #manufacturer-based BIM libraries is very much a 'Team Effort'. 👋 Here are 3 reasons why input from manufacturers is critical to the BIM content creation process. Swipe ➡️ to learn more. Based on our ongoing conversations with leading design firms, it's clear #specifiers need/want/should have access to quality design assets and product data directly from the manufacturers supplying these products. They shouldn't need to create it themselves. At IGS Group (IGS BIM Solutions) (creators of BIMcontent.com), we believe manufacturers play a crucial role in driving BIM adoption forward. By collaborating with manufacturers, we streamline the design process for everyone involved across the entire project lifecycle. That's why we developed BIMcontent.com. We ensure manufacturer-based BIM libraries on BIMcontent.com are built according to best practices, ensuring they meet the needs of the design community. Our goal is to make it easy for specifiers to find and download exactly what they need from manufacturers, whether it's a specific brand, product type, content format, BIM asset type, parameter value, or a particular software version. 🖥️ Manufacturers, interested in building or optimising your BIM library? 🤕 It happened again…. We recently met with a building product #manufacturer who reached out with some concerns about their BIM (#Revit) library. After working with the same #BIMcontent provider for several years (not us), and investing a significant sum of money, they had some feedback (finally?) from a BIM Manager at a Tier 1 #Architect telling them their content wasn’t suitable for use in projects, and recommended they get in touch with IGS Group (IGS BIM Solutions). It took all of 3 seconds to see their library had been built by someone (a company) who really didn’t know what they were doing. It was terrible. 😢 A manufacturer who cares deeply about their #reputation was unknowingly hosting, sending, and promoting #BIMobjects to specifiers that would make most Revit users chuckle (at this manufacturer’s expense) when they opened it. In business, ignorance is not bliss. This library was an absolute #brandkiller ☠ Evidently, it was likely the case that #feedback hadn’t been provided, or it had never reached the right people. i.e. the people procuring the BIM content creation. 🤔 Some of the common issues we see that lead to BIM libraries being developed poorly, and not being rectified, are: ▶ Feedback fails to reach the right people within the organisation. i.e. online forms go to a poorly managed Inbox, or within the organisation, it’s unknown who is managing the BIM library development, and where feedback should be directed. ▶ When negative feedback is received, people try to ‘bury it’ as it has the potential to call their procurement capabilities / supplier choice into question. ▶ Manufacturers mistake a lack of feedback for acceptance of everything being ok. The truth is, the most common response from designers when they download poor content is to simply move on, rather than take the time of providing feedback… and who can blame them (refer above points). ▶ Manufacturers get feedback from the wrong people. i.e. people who, although they may use the design software / content daily, they themselves aren’t experts in how content should be built) When we devised BIMcontent.com, we made a few key decisions: 1️⃣ We wouldn’t compromise the site with any ‘poor’ quality BIM content 2️⃣ The site would set a benchmark in quality and consistency of the content hosted. 3️⃣ We would publish and make public our content standard(s) Aside believing this is the best commercial strategy for ourselves, it was our hope BIMcontent.com could be used as a referenceable benchmark, and manufacturers could have a solid reference when procuring BIM content for how it should be created / managed / accessible. What should designers do when they download poor BIM content? NB: I thought this meme was appropriate and funny... then I showed it to my team and discovered #young people would have no idea who this guy is, or get the joke. I'm truly getting #old. #MauryPovich #

😡 When the #BIMobject you download is poorly made and you spend time trying to 'fix' it, only to realise what a mess it is and you'd have been better off re-building it from scratch. More ⬇️ Here’s the deal: Not all BIM content is created equal, and certainly not every BIM content hosting site can be trusted to provide content that actually works. That’s where IGS Group (IGS BIM Solutions) comes in with BIMcontent.com —"the BIM Manager's choice" and "the exception to the rule" in discouraging the use of manufacturer-based BIM content platforms by design teams. At BIMcontent.com, we adhere to rigorous Content Quality Standards, ensuring every BIM library on our platform meets high standards. No exceptions. No 'luck of the draw' as to whether the content will destroy your model performance or not. We’re constantly expanding with new product categories and brands to help you, the designer, find exactly what you need. By partnering with leading #manufacturers, we aim to offer the AEC industry #free, high-quality, dependable, and curated #BIM content libraries, bridging the gap between suppliers and specifiers. 🖥️ Explore our growing collection of BIM content across a wide range of product categories at BIMcontent.com ✨ 👉 Manufacturers, interested in developing a quality BIM library for your products as a way of improving collaboration with Building Design Professionals? BPMs: No, architects aren’t ignoring your product—they just can’t find the technical specs buried within your website. This is what is (really) happening: Architect lands on your website → "Cool design!" → "Now, where are the specs?" Starts clicking around → "Hmm, okay, maybe under 'Product Info'?" → "Nope, just some salesy fluff..." → "Aha! A PDF! Wait, no, this is a brochure. Ugh." Frustration builds → "How many clicks does it take to find a BIM file?" → "I’m an architect, not a treasure hunter!" Deadline panic → "Forget it, I’ve got a meeting in 10. Moving on!" Abandons your product → "Hello, Competitor’s website! Let's click on the product page... ooh, a design guide, installation guide, warranty, 3-part spec and BIM files all on the product page—bless you!" Your product: Bye-bye! → "Well, that was fun. Too bad no one’s ever going to spec it." Making the information architects need more easily accessible increases BPMs revenue. Often, the marketing fixes can be easier than you think.
