How did BIMcontent.com come to be? ➡ In 2020, frustrated with other online BIM content websites / manufacturer content, several of #Australia’s leading #Architecture firms asked IGS Group (IGS BIM Solutions) if we could build a BIM Content repository / platform of manufacturer-based libraries for them that: 1. had strict BIM / #Revit content #quality protocols (no exceptions!) 2. was TRULY #free to use and protected their #privacy (e.g. their personal details were not shared with 3rd parties every time a file was downloaded) 3. had an #Australian focus (locally developed, local brands) 4. allowed them to have input into ongoing platform development 5. …and, helped reduce the use of other BIM content websites like #RevitCity and others that are notorious for poor quality, inconsistently created and outdated #BIMobjects. Since launching BIMcontent.com just 3 short years ago, Tier 1 Architecture practices and small design / building companies alike #globally are utilising the platform at exponentially increasing rates, now made easier with the Revit Plug-in we recently launched, so it can easily be deployed across entire design teams. Is it the end of other sites like Revit City, which doesn’t seem to have been updated since 2014?
