"Oh! What about high-hanging fruit?" brought a wave of laughter as we wrapped up an unforgettable event with Moody’s and Catholic JC. We recently had the privilege of bringing along 24 J1 girls from CJC on an exciting visit to Moody's, where they experienced an impactful speed-networking session. The girls had the chance to meet and interact with inspiring role models from Moody’s Singapore Sales Organization, each sharing their unique journeys. The event was designed to empower the girls with firsthand stories of resilience, perseverance, and the power of curiosity as they navigate their own paths toward the future. One highlight was Alicia Yang’s personal journey, where she shared how her aspirations ranged from becoming a lawyer to an air stewardess, and her eventual career in finance. After exploring different roles, Alicia found her true passion in sales, rising to become the first female Managing Director at Moody’s Asia Pacific. Her story, along with many others, served as a reminder that it’s okay to explore, pivot, and embrace uncertainty as part of the journey to finding your true calling. The girls not only gained career insights but also walked away with valuable interview tips from seasoned professionals. The day wrapped up with a fun and engaging corporate lingo game, where the girls learned terms like “low-hanging fruit” and “moving the needle,” leaving them both informed and energized. This event was filled with good vibes, insightful conversations, and a powerful reminder that it’s okay to explore, pivot, and follow your passions— no matter where the journey takes you. The girls were clearly inspired, with many sharing their gratitude, "Thank you for taking the time to help guide us in a period where almost all of us are uncertain about our future. We appreciate it ❤️" said one of the girls. We’re incredibly thankful to the Moody's Women in Sales Business Resource Group and the volunteers Alicia Yang Margaretha Cahaya Claire Tay Hsing Yee Ang Alexandra Apit Belle E. Srija Nair Chloe Wong Marco Mejia Priscilla L. Nathalie Bastiou Jeremy Sng Shi Hui Soh Choon Hong Chua, CAMS for their partnership and commitment to empowering the girls. We are also grateful to have shared such an impactful experience with these young women, and we’re excited to see how they continue to grow and explore all the opportunities ahead! 💪✨ #InspiringGirls #InspiringGirlsSG Jacqueline C.
