I work with some really smart people 🤯. They look at the tiniest things in life, literally, and find out what awesome properties microbes, bacteria and proteins have 🧪🧫 that can be used to overcome challenges like food waste, water pollution, and CO2 overload with solutions rooted in biology. In 2023, our colleagues contributed to a total of 173 patent filings while launching new biosolutions🌱. #ScienceWithImpact Yesterday I attended the event “Science with Impact; Collaborate with Industry to Advance and Valorize your Research!” organized by the UMCG Innovation Center and the Business Generator Groningen Wonderful event for networking and getting to know more on how to make science more impactful. Inspiring key lectures from prof. Marcel Levi and prof. Hedderik van Rijn on science valorization and how to take your ideas from the lab to business. Key take-home messages -Know what you do not know -Get together with people and dare to share your ideas -For success you need: technical, business and political people -A beer machine in the corridor might lead to more science valorization than a coffee machine
