If I Were Starting a Large Commercial Insurance Brokerage, Here’s What I’d Do...: 1️⃣ Test Your Own Product: Like any good drug dealer (yes, I went there), you have to use your own product. Try getting service for your business and use a stopwatch.... Can you easily reach an exec when you need one? That’s the baseline—accessibility. But what happens next? Does your support team have the tech and tools to keep up with client needs? Likely not and your service will fall short, and eventually, your clients will notice. It’s only a matter of time. 2️⃣ Leverage Smart Prospecting Tools: Build an ecosystem that integrates automated emails, videos, nurture campaigns, and tight call scripts—all while keeping integrity at the core. Reverse engineer your revenue goals by breaking them down: how many clients do you need? What’s your closing ratio? What’s the drop-off at each stage? The math never lies. Success is just numbers + consistent execution. 3️⃣ Pick Your Partners Wisely: Don’t try to partner with every insurer—go small and go deep. Focus on just a handful of carriers who get your vision and support your niche. Show them meaningful volume quickly while keeping your quote-to-bind rate above 70%. That’s how you build trust and longevity. Here’s the thing—I’ve done it once, and I could do it again. This time? Faster and more efficient. The secret? It’s not magic—it’s process.
