In today’s dynamic business landscape, the term “consultant” often conjures up a familiar image: a well-trodden path of education and experience leading to a predictable role within a firm. However, at FMP, we challenge this conventional narrative. We recognize that true innovation stems from diversity—not just in thought, but in the unique journeys that each of our employees brings to the table. In our first Not Your Typical Consultant blog series, Haley Fuller, M.Ed., CHES talks with Kristoffer Garringer about his previous experiences before joining FMP, how they have uniquely prepared him for consulting, and what makes FMP different from other consulting firms. #Consulting #NotYourTypicalConsultant #Diversity #Consultant #Innovation #Business

We’ve all felt the high of a positive review, and the frustration that often comes with negative ones. What we don’t often think about is how every single person in the practice can influence a clients’ decision to write a review – for better or worse! Join us for our December TEAM session as we discuss client reviews, from why they matter, what our roles are, how we can appropriately drive them, to how to respond (ensuring a positive impact, even when the review isn’t favourable!). This is a team session because we ALL play a role in client reviews – let’s make sure we take ownership of what they say and how we handle it! Such a great webinar this week with the AICD. Take a look at some of these insights from an attendee. A beautiful example of recogniding the shift to safety differently and making success more likely. To my fellow HSE professionals, directors were engaged and wanting to understand how they can support positive mental health outcomes. I was also asked why we are still monitoring LITFR if it’s been proven to not be a safety indicator? And if not that, then what? We all need to find better ways to educate our boards and exec on why LTIFR is not helpful in understanding safety performance.

Thanks to the team at Australian Institute of Company Directors for an excellent and informative program. Driving Change: Strategic Tools for Board Directors in "Pychosocial Hazard Governance". Facilitated by Carolyn (McSweeney) Grant with an expert panel; Jim Kelly, Paul Hodgson and Samantha McGolrick. Key learnings for me: This is a topic that often goes under the governance radar or is thought to be covered by metrics demonstrating avoidance of failure. A better approach is to create safe and healthy outcomes by focusing on making success more likely. There is a large gap between board perceptions and frontline experience. Only inquisitive minds and due diligence will close this gap. #AICD #FAICD #LeadWellLiveWell #NED
